About The Company

Olymel is committed to innovation, quality, and sustainable growth. The company develops and markets quality food products while working to promote animal welfare, encourage responsible sourcing, reduce its environmental impact, and support the communities where it operates. Through initiatives such as “Ensemble on redonne,” Olymel strives to make a positive contribution beyond its business operations. Employees are part of a collaborative, close-knit environment where their contributions matter and where development, teamwork, and continuous improvement are valued.

About The Role

Olymel is seeking a Project Manager – R&D to lead food product development projects and help turn identified business opportunities into effective, high-quality products. Working in collaboration with the Chief of Development Projects – Poultry, you will support opportunities identified by marketing teams or the commercial strategy department. You will apply a scientific and rigorous approach while ensuring that product development activities align with applicable quality and food safety requirements.

This role is well suited to a project professional who can follow established project charters, define client expectations with precision, and coordinate effectively across teams. You will help connect internal and external stakeholders, translating needs and objectives into clear project plans and supporting each initiative from early development through factory implementation.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will bring a relevant educational background, practical product development experience, and the ability to manage complex projects in a food industry environment. Applicants should have a degree in food science, food engineering, or a related field, along with significant experience in food product development. An in-depth understanding of food industry regulations and standards is essential, as is proficiency with project management processes and tools.

You should be organized, collaborative, and able to communicate clearly with clients and colleagues across different functions. The position may require varied working hours depending on project needs, as well as travel to multiple factories. Candidates should be comfortable providing hands-on support at local facilities and coordinating work across laboratory, production, quality, purchasing, and operations teams.

Responsibilities

In this position, you will guide projects through defined development stages, maintain clear communication with stakeholders, and support the consistent application of project requirements. Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage a range of food product development projects, following established project management processes and project charters.
  • Monitor project stages, timelines, activities, and deliverables to support effective execution.
  • Build collaborative working relationships with internal and external clients, account managers, and the innovation department to clarify requirements and objectives.
  • Coordinate closely with technical services, purchasing, and operations to align activities and support product development.
  • Develop standard operating procedures and product specifications, and work with factory and corporate quality teams to define appropriate monitoring frequencies.
  • Coordinate the preparation of product samples in the laboratory kitchen and at factory locations.
  • Provide follow-up and on-site support at local factories, and assist other R&D project managers as needed.
  • Help ensure that product development work meets established quality, food safety, regulatory, and specification requirements.

Benefits

Olymel offers a competitive annual salary, discussed according to experience, along with a comprehensive compensation package and a range of competitive benefits. Employees can access personalized support for training and skills development, an attractive certification program, and a service recognition program. Additional offerings include corporate discounts and the opportunity to work in a family-like environment with a collaborative team. You will also be able to contribute to innovative projects and support a company committed to sustainable development, responsible sourcing, animal welfare, environmental responsibility, and community engagement.

Equal Opportunity

Olymel is committed to providing a respectful and inclusive workplace. Applicants are considered based on their qualifications, experience, and role-related capabilities. We encourage candidates from diverse backgrounds to apply. Olymel does not use artificial intelligence (AI) in its selection processes.
