About The Role

CoolIT is seeking a Quality Engineer to join its Quality team. In this role, you will investigate product failures, develop and execute test plans, and help identify root causes and effective corrective actions. Your technical judgment, practical testing skills, and attention to detail will contribute to product quality and customer satisfaction.

You will work with internal teams, external stakeholders, and customers to communicate findings and support continuous improvement. This position is suited to an engineer who enjoys hands-on problem solving and can turn technical evidence into clear recommendations and documentation. The role is based in Canada and may involve travel of up to 10%.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechatronics, electronics engineering technology, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Three to five years of quality-related work experience.
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship.
  • Strong written and spoken English skills, including the ability to communicate technical information to internal and external audiences.
  • Experience setting up and using data acquisition systems, sensors, and actuators is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly and disassembly, along with competence using common hand tools.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, inspection plans, quality control plans, and product specifications.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, injection molding, extrusion, welding, additive manufacturing, and surface treatment is an asset.
  • Experience with 3D modeling software such as SolidWorks, bench instruments, and testing electro-mechanical parts or systems is preferred.
  • Experience with root-cause analysis, 8D reporting, and corrective and preventive action recommendations is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot product failures and assess their impact on product performance and quality.
  • Develop and execute test plans to investigate failures, gather evidence, and identify root causes.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to define and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Prepare non-conformance reports and 8D documentation to clearly record analysis, findings, and recommended actions.
  • Provide customers with timely, accurate technical updates throughout the failure analysis process.
  • Design test fixtures and software solutions that improve the speed, consistency, and effectiveness of testing.
  • Apply sound engineering judgment and organized documentation practices to support continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
