About The Company

CoolIT Systems Inc., an Ecolab company, was founded in Calgary, Alberta, in 2001. It is a leading provider of direct liquid cooling technology for data centers, supercomputers, and desktop computers. CoolIT designs and manufactures cooling solutions used by major technology companies around the world. As demand for generative AI, high-performance computing, and cloud services continues to grow, the company is expanding its global impact and advancing innovative cooling technologies.

CoolIT has received recognition for its growth and innovation, including being named to the Financial Times list of “The Americas’ Fastest Growing Companies” in 2023 and receiving Deloitte Fast 50 Clean Technology and Fast 500 distinctions. Joining the team offers an opportunity to contribute to products supporting some of the world’s most demanding computing environments.

About The Role

CoolIT Systems is seeking a Quality Engineer to help maintain high product quality and customer satisfaction. In this role, you will investigate product failures, identify root causes, and coordinate effective corrective and preventive actions. You will work closely with internal teams, external partners, and customers, providing clear technical updates throughout the analysis process.

This position combines hands-on testing, engineering problem-solving, technical documentation, and collaboration. You will help strengthen quality practices while supporting continuous improvement, product innovation, and the company’s growth. The role may require travel of up to 10%.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechatronics, electronics engineering technology, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
Three to five years of quality-related work experience.
Legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship.
Excellent English communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear technical documentation and communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
Experience setting up and using data acquisition systems, sensors, and actuators is an asset.
Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly and disassembly, and confidence using common hand tools.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, inspection plans, quality-control documentation, and product specifications.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, injection molding, extrusion, welding, additive manufacturing, and surface treatment is an asset.
Working knowledge of 3D modeling software, such as SolidWorks, and bench equipment such as oscilloscopes, power analyzers, logic analyzers, and multimeters is preferred.
Experience testing and qualifying electromechanical components or systems, investigating failures, preparing 8D reports, and recommending corrective and preventive actions is preferred.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot product failures and develop structured test plans to determine root causes.
Set up and conduct investigations using appropriate test equipment, sensors, actuators, and measurement tools.
Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to define and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Prepare nonconformance reports (NCRs), 8D documentation, and other records supporting failure analysis and quality processes.
Provide customers with timely, accurate technical updates on investigations and findings.
Design or improve test fixtures and software solutions to make testing more efficient and repeatable.
Document results, communicate recommendations, and contribute to continuous improvement in product quality.

Benefits

CoolIT and Ecolab offer a comprehensive benefits package and a professional, casual workplace. Benefits include vacation and flex days, as well as a paid company-wide holiday shutdown. Medical coverage includes dental, prescription drugs, optical, paramedical services, and a health spending account, with coverage beginning on the first day of employment. Employees can also access company-funded RRSP contributions, along with tenure-based retention rewards that may include additional vacation time and a monetary bonus. The company supports career and development opportunities as part of its commitment to employees and a collaborative workplace culture.

Selected candidates may be required to complete background checks, including criminal record and education verification. Only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.

Equal Opportunity

Ecolab Inc. is committed to fair and equal treatment of associates and applicants and to advancing equal employment opportunity. Hiring, promotion, transfer, compensation, benefits, working conditions, and advancement opportunities are based on individual qualifications and job performance. Ecolab does not discriminate against associates or applicants on the basis of race, religion, color, creed, national origin, citizenship status, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, genetic information, marital status, age, or disability.
