About The Role
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Engineer to join our team in Collingwood, ON. This role is pivotal in maintaining and enhancing the quality standards of our manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will lead initiatives focused on statistical process control (SPC), root cause analysis, and continuous improvement to ensure product excellence and customer satisfaction. As a Quality Engineer, you will collaborate closely with production, engineering, and customer support teams to implement quality strategies, conduct audits, and support compliance with industry standards such as IATF 16949 and ISO 9001. Your expertise will help drive a culture of quality, efficiency, and innovation within our organization.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a university degree in Engineering or a related field, along with relevant certifications such as Six Sigma Green Belt and Internal Auditor certification. Experience in the automotive or manufacturing sector is highly preferred, with a thorough understanding of quality tools and methodologies. Proficiency in statistical software like Minitab and advanced skills in developing PFMEAs, control plans, and process documentation are essential. Strong analytical abilities, the capacity to interpret technical drawings and specifications, and excellent communication skills are also required. Certifications such as Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) are advantageous, demonstrating a commitment to professional development and industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Manage and continuously improve the SPC program to enhance product quality and reduce waste.
- Lead root cause investigations utilizing tools such as 8D, 5-Why, and Fishbone diagrams to identify and resolve quality issues.
- Develop and deliver training sessions on SPC methodologies to production and quality teams to foster a proactive quality culture.
- Implement and track corrective and preventive actions for product and process nonconformities, ensuring timely resolution.
- Maintain and update key quality documentation, including PFMEAs, control plans, and audit reports, to ensure compliance and traceability.
- Engage with customers directly to resolve quality concerns, promote transparency, and strengthen relationships.
- Conduct internal and external audits to verify adherence to industry standards and internal quality policies.
- Support the execution of the Quality Improvement Plan aimed at increasing process consistency and customer satisfaction.
