About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Software Developer to join our expanding technology team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative software solutions that support our core business operations. As a senior member of the team, you will play a pivotal role in analyzing system requirements, designing technical solutions, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality code. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, business analysts, and other developers, to translate business needs into robust technical specifications. Your expertise will help optimize our systems, improve performance, and enhance user experiences across various platforms.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in full-stack development, with the ability to handle complex programming tasks and support the entire software development lifecycle. This position requires a proactive mindset, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively under pressure. You will also be expected to mentor junior team members and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the team.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. A minimum of 5-8 years of full-stack software development experience is required, demonstrating a solid understanding of modern programming languages, frameworks, and development tools. Experience with GenAI development is considered an asset, reflecting our focus on innovative AI-driven solutions.
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to synthesize complex data are essential. Candidates must be able to work independently and collaboratively, demonstrating initiative and resilience in a fast-paced environment. Bilingualism in English and French is required for candidates based in Quebec, given the need to communicate effectively with colleagues across Canada. Eligibility to work in Canada is mandatory, although Canadian work experience is not a prerequisite.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive analyses of system and coding needs to identify issues and propose effective solutions, including detailed program specifications.
- Develop, modify, test, and debug software applications in accordance with project plans and deadlines, ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices.
- Gain a thorough understanding of the technical and business aspects of our systems to facilitate effective communication with team members and stakeholders.
- Translate business requirements into precise technical specifications and software components, ensuring alignment with project goals.
- Organize and manage production sessions, ensuring smooth deployment and implementation of software solutions.
- Design and model complex programmatic solutions that meet both functional and non-functional requirements, ensuring scalability and maintainability.
- Conduct code and design reviews to maintain high quality and ensure best practices are followed.
- Develop and support complex software components, providing technical expertise and guidance as needed.
- Support and mentor team members during development activities to uphold quality standards and meet project deadlines.
- Create comprehensive unit and integration tests for all developed functions to ensure reliability and performance.
- Implement regression testing strategies to enhance application stability and minimize defects.
- Provide ongoing support and maintenance for applications, resolving complex anomalies and ensuring system robustness.
