Original job description

Find great talent. Build great teams. Grow your career at Strathmore.

Position: Talent Acquisition Specialist – High-Volume Recruitment

Company: Strathmore Landscape Contractors

Industry: Landscape and Snow Management

Location: Hybrid, Gatineau, Quebec

Employment Type: Full-time, permanent

About The Company

Strathmore Landscape Contractors is a leading Canadian provider of commercial landscaping and snow removal services. For more than 60 years, the company has served a diverse range of clients, including businesses, universities, government agencies, and shopping centres. Strathmore is recognized for its award-winning work and commitment to high standards across the landscaping and snow management industry.

The company strives to create a stimulating, employee-focused workplace and takes pride in its climate-conscious practices and culturally diverse teams. At Strathmore, employees have the opportunity to contribute to services that support communities and organizations throughout Canada.

About The Role

Strathmore is seeking a motivated Talent Acquisition Specialist who enjoys hands-on recruitment and can thrive in a high-volume hiring environment. In this role, you will support the attraction and selection of seasonal and permanent employees across multiple regions. You will partner closely with operational managers to anticipate workforce requirements, build candidate pipelines, and help ensure teams are ready to deliver reliable landscaping and snow removal services.

This is a full-time, permanent hybrid position based in Gatineau, Quebec. The successful candidate will help strengthen Strathmore’s recruitment efforts while providing a professional, responsive experience to applicants from initial contact through onboarding.

Qualifications

You have one to three years of recruitment experience, ideally in a high-volume, seasonal, or operational hiring environment. Experience in customer service or sales is an asset, as is familiarity with an Applicant Tracking System; experience with ADP is particularly helpful. You communicate effectively in both French and English, verbally and in writing, and knowledge of an additional language is considered an asset.

You are dynamic, open-minded, proactive, and results-oriented. You can work independently, manage competing priorities, and collaborate comfortably with managers to understand staffing needs. You are also comfortable working toward targets and earning commissions tied to successful hires. A practical, adaptable approach and a genuine interest in connecting candidates with suitable opportunities will help you succeed.

Responsibilities

Manage the full recruitment cycle for seasonal and permanent positions in landscaping and snow removal, from identifying hiring needs to coordinating successful onboarding. Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies that help attract qualified candidates across Strathmore’s regions.

Write, post, and promote job opportunities through appropriate recruitment platforms. Proactively source candidates using resume databases, social media, employee referrals, and other relevant channels. Review applications, identify suitable prospects, and conduct phone or virtual interviews to assess qualifications and interest.

Work with regional managers to anticipate operational staffing requirements and respond to hiring needs in a timely manner. Maintain an active pipeline of available candidates to support changing and seasonal demands. Represent Strathmore at job fairs and recruitment events to build awareness and engage potential applicants. Throughout the process, communicate professionally, provide a positive candidate experience, and coordinate onboarding activities to support a smooth transition for new employees.

Benefits

Strathmore offers a competitive salary with commission on successful hires, group insurance, and a group Registered Retirement Savings Plan. You will have the opportunity to contribute directly to the growth of a national company, work in a collaborative and stimulating environment, and explore potential career growth within the organization.

Equal Opportunity

Strathmore Landscape Contractors welcomes applicants from diverse backgrounds and is committed to a respectful and inclusive recruitment process. Candidates will be considered fairly based on their qualifications, experience, and ability to meet the requirements of the role. Applicants are encouraged to apply directly through this job posting.
