Senior Disaster Recovery Tester
Toronto, Ontario, Canada | 1-Year Contract | Hybrid (3 Days Onsite/Week)

About the Role
Our consulting client is seeking an experienced Senior Disaster Recovery Tester to support disaster recovery planning, testing, and recovery readiness assessments.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in disaster recovery assessments, DR test planning, and validating Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO). This role involves identifying recovery gaps, evaluating risks, and collaborating with IT and business stakeholders to strengthen disaster recovery processes.
Responsibilities
- Conduct disaster recovery assessments and evaluate recovery readiness across IT infrastructure and business systems.
- Develop, coordinate, and execute disaster recovery test plans.
- Validate RTO/RPO targets and assess recovery capabilities.
- Prepare post-test reports, document findings, and identify remediation opportunities.
- Work with IT infrastructure, application, and business teams to identify disaster recovery risks and gaps.
- Support business continuity planning, risk assessments, and remediation activities.
- Assess backup systems and cloud recovery solutions.
- Evaluate recovery procedures across Unix, Windows, databases, and mainframe (z/OS) environments.
- Support alignment with ISO 22301, NIST, and applicable regulatory compliance requirements.
Required Skills / What You Bring
- 7+ years of experience in disaster recovery, IT infrastructure, or business continuity.
- Strong experience in disaster recovery assessments and DR test planning.
- Hands-on experience with DR testing, RTO/RPO validation, and post-test reporting.
- Knowledge of business continuity, risk assessment, and remediation processes.
- Experience working with backup systems and cloud recovery solutions.
- Understanding of Unix, Windows, databases, and mainframe (z/OS) environments.
- Familiarity with ISO 22301, NIST, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical teams and business stakeholders.
