Senior ServiceNow Developer – HRSD / Custom Application Development
Contract: Independent contract
Anticipated Start Date: November 2, 2026
Duration : 20 weeks
End Client: Leading Healthcare Organization
Hours: Variable weekly schedule, ranging from 5 to 40 hours per week
About the Role
Our consulting client is seeking an experienced Senior ServiceNow Developer with strong expertise in ServiceNow HR Service Delivery (HRSD), Custom Application Development, and App Dev.
The ideal candidate will bring hands-on ServiceNow development experience, a solid understanding of platform best practices, and the ability to work closely with stakeholders to design, develop, test, and deploy scalable solutions.
This engagement involves collaborating with technical and functional teams, supporting Agile development activities, and ensuring successful solution delivery from requirements gathering through go-live and knowledge transfer.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, configure, and enhance solutions on the ServiceNow platform, with a focus on HRSD and Custom Application Development.
- Provide overall ServiceNow platform expertise and recommend technical best practices aligned with short-term and long-term business objectives.
- Identify and document functional and technical requirements.
- Develop and support custom ServiceNow applications and integrations with technologies outside the ServiceNow platform.
- Participate in user story grooming, sizing, and sprint planning.
- Manage daily sprint stand-ups and demonstrate completed functionality at the end of each sprint.
- Manage internal unit testing before User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Ensure solutions follow ServiceNow technical best practices and maintain a sustainable upgrade path.
- Support go-live readiness, deployment checklists, and related implementation activities.
- Lead knowledge transfer sessions and prepare internal teams to support deployed solutions following the post-go-live support period.
Required Skills / What You Bring
- Strong hands-on experience in ServiceNow development and configuration.
- Experience with ServiceNow HR Service Delivery (HRSD).
- Experience in ServiceNow Custom Application Development (App Dev).
- Strong understanding of ServiceNow platform architecture and development best practices.
- Experience gathering functional and technical requirements.
- Experience developing and integrating ServiceNow solutions with external technologies.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, including user story grooming, sprint stand-ups, and sprint demonstrations.
- Experience with unit testing, UAT support, and production go-live activities.
- Ability to provide technical recommendations, support platform maintainability, and lead knowledge transfer activities.
