Your Next Challenge
Reporting to the Superintendent, Project Control, you will be part of the Construction team. You will be responsible for providing project cost control support for the project and management teams. You will be an integral part of the project team and will work closely with both the site and regional project teams to monitor, track, coordinate, and report on project costs, controls, and progress throughout all phases of the project. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
- Prepare the month end accruals;
- Liaise with contract administrator to collect month end progress payment certificates, liaise with expeditor for supplier progress payment certificates
- Export and import project data from ERP system into Project Variance Reporting tools
- Review purchase requisitions for proper coding
- Review change orders and bid analysis documents and provide budget information
- Maintain budget/forecast/business case tracking log (cost to date, cost to complete, status, progress, commitments, budget, forecast, etc.);
- Investigate and provide variance commentaries for cost deviations from original estimate, forecast, budget and business case with project control superintendent and identify potential areas of concern;
- Maintain the change management and contingency tracking log for approved scope changes and contingency usage;
- Assist in the preparation of the interim project forecasts and detailed cost breakdowns of each project;
- Collect detailed cost information from multiple sources to facilitate the preparation of the monthly project review reports;
- Ensure continuous process improvements and best practices are applied within the project cost accounting area through all phases of the project;
- Work closely with the project contract administrator and accounts payable department to monitor and improve processes related to commitments, purchase orders and outstanding invoices;
- Ensure compliance with company policy and accounting standards;
- Other duties as required.
What You Need To Succeed
- Bachelor’s Degree or College Diploma in a related discipline (Business, Commerce, Accounting, Economics, etc.);
- Five years’ of relevant experience;
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices;
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills;
- Experience with SAP and JDE is considered a strong asset;
- Ability to adapt to change in a dynamic and growing company;
- Strong teamwork skills, organizational skills and the ability to manage and prioritize assignments;
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
Your Work Schedule
- Schedule: 40 hours per week, from Monday to Friday.
