The Support and Development Center provide services to Agnico Eagle's various Canadian and / or international mining operations in a variety of areas, including administration, financial services, IT, supply chain, human resources, communications, construction as well as technical services (geology, engineering, metallurgy, infrastructure, marketing, innovation, and digital transformation).
Your Next Challenge
Agnico Eagle aims to reduce its carbon emissions by 30% by 2030 and achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. The incumbent will play a key role in supporting these goals by helping the company understand its energy needs, improve its energy efficiency, and implement decarbonization projects.
Reporting to the Infrastructure Superintendent, you will be part of the Technical Services Infrastructure Department. In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating technologies related to the efficient production and use of energy and decarbonization, as well as monitoring the energy needs of operations to ensure that they have the required energy blocks. In addition, you will support the infrastructure team in the evaluation of study projects. You will ensure that objectives are met while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle's values, the Health and Safety Code of Conduct and the Environment.
Specifically, You Will Have To
Energy and decarbonization:
- Support the various groups in the design and implementation of solutions to optimize the energy balance of current and future operations;
- Carry out the various engineering phases required for the execution of energy and decarbonization projects.
- Perform the technical, economic, and financial analyses required to assess the viability and profitability of identified opportunities.
- Coordinate and facilitate the transfer of energy and decarbonization projects between strategic and operational groups;
- Support the implementation of projects and solutions related to energy management and decarbonization.
Infrastructure
- Perform the engineering work required to assess infrastructure for technical studies (preliminary, pre-feasibility and feasibility).
- Develop and evaluate various technical options to identify optimal solutions from technical, operational, and economic perspectives.
- Write technical studies (preliminary, pre-feasibility and feasibility) and presentations of identified projects to confirm their profitability;
- Coordinate the stakeholders required for the successful completion of the studies.
What You Need To Succeed
Bachelor's degree in Applied Science or equivalent technical training;
Minimum of ten (10) years of engineering experience;
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in energy efficiency and/or decarbonization;
- Energy Expertise in the Mining Industry;
- Member in good standing of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ);
- Proficient in the use of the English language since the work will be done in collaboration with other Agnico Eagle sites whose main language is English;
- Proficient in the use of the French language, orally and in writing;
- Willingness to travel as required to different sites in Canada and abroad.

- The desire to contribute to the transition towards achieving carbon neutrality;
- The willingness to participate in the development of AEM's decarbonization journey.
Your Work Schedule
Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday; Possibility of a 5-2-4-3 schedule;
Location: Possibility of working in one of the AEM offices closer to your residence, in Rouyn-Noranda, Val-d'Or, Mirabel or Toronto. There is an opportunity to have a hybrid work schedule, i.e. working some days from an AEM office and some days telecommuting.
