Your Next Challenge
Reporting to the Site Controller, you will be a part of the Finance Department. You will be responsible for financial analysis, forecasting, management reporting, and performance insights. The role conducts month-end cost reviews, leads the site forecasting process, supports budgeting planning, and delivers actual versus budget and forecast variance analysis. The incumbent develops financial reports and dashboards, supports operational decision-making, and ensures compliance with SOX requirements, audit obligations, and financial controls while driving continuous improvement across reporting and business processes. You will ensure that goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct, and the environment.
- Lead monthly cost review meetings with budget owners and department leaders, providing meaningful insight into actual versus budget and forecast performance;
- Lead the site forecasting process, working closely with departmental leaders to develop, challenge, consolidate, and communicate monthly and quarterly forecasts;
- Support the annual budget process and Life of Mine planning activities by coordinating inputs, analyzing assumptions, and providing financial guidance to budget owners;
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages, including actual versus budget and forecast analysis, trend analysis, KPI reporting, and management presentations;
- Analyze operating expenditures, investigate significant variances, identify key cost drivers, and provide recommendations to improve financial performance and forecast accuracy;
- Partner with operational leaders to challenge assumptions, evaluate spending patterns, identify risks and opportunities, and support informed operational decision-making;
- Perform financial modeling, scenario analysis, and operational business case evaluations to support departmental and site-level decision-making;
- Monitor and forecast workforce, contractor, maintenance, production, and other operating costs to ensure alignment with forecasts, budgets, and business objectives;
- Develop, automate, and maintain financial reports, dashboards, and analytics within JDE, Hyperion, Anaplan, Power BI, and other financial reporting tools;
- Prepare ad hoc financial analysis and reporting to support management, operational departments, and corporate stakeholders;
- Support month-end and year-end close activities through financial analysis, accrual reviews, account monitoring, cost allocation validation, and reporting accuracy checks;
- Maintain a general awareness of capital project activities and expenditures and provide financial analysis or reporting support to the Capital Accountant and site leadership as required;
- Ensure compliance with SOX requirements by performing and maintaining assigned controls, supporting testing activities, coordinating remediation efforts, and maintaining required documentation and evidence;
- Support internal and external audit engagements by preparing analyses, schedules, and supporting documentation, responding to audit requests, and assisting with the implementation of audit recommendations and continuous improvement initiatives;
- Identify and implement process improvements that enhance reporting efficiency, data quality, financial controls, reporting capabilities, and business intelligence solutions.
What You Need To Succeed
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline (Business, Commerce, Accounting, Economics, etc.);
- CPA designation completed or in progress is considered an asset.;5+ years of progressive experience in financial analysis, forecasting, management reporting, budgeting, or financial planning and analysis (FP&A);
- Experience supporting operational stakeholders in a mining, industrial, manufacturing, or similarly complex environment is preferred;
- Demonstrated experience performing variance analysis, cost analysis, forecasting, and management reporting;
- Experience working within a SOX-controlled environment and supporting audit requirements is considered a strong asset;
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modeling, reporting, and data analysis;
- Experience with JDE, Hyperion, HFM, Anaplan, Power BI, and other financial planning and reporting systems;
- Strong understanding of forecasting, budgeting, financial reporting, and performance management processes;
- Knowledge of internal controls, SOX compliance requirements, and audit support processes;
- Ability to analyze large datasets, identify trends, and communicate meaningful business insights.

- Schedule: 5/2 or 4/3 schedule at our Macassa Mine in Kirkland Lake, ON or at one of our offices in Sudbury or Timmins.
