Your Next Challenge
Reporting to the Permitting Lead, you will be part of the Permitting and Regulatory Affairs Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct, and the environment.
- Serve as a practice specialist in the Permitting department related to environmental assessment, water license and other regulatory applications and lease renewals and amendments;
- Support and coordinate field investigations required for studies related to thermal, hydrogeological geochemical assessment, and other general studies;
- Support the preparation and completion of studies (e.g., internal memoranda/reports, write up of environmental assessments, water license applications, management plans, and annual reports;
- Work to connect and build relationships internally and externally;
- Develop technical presentations for multiple stakeholders;
- Promote standardization.
What You Need To Succeed
- Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science or a related discipline;
- At least 4 years' relevant mining or permitting experience;
- An understanding or willingness to learn of the various national, provincial, and regional regulatory bodies that oversee mining projects in Nunavut;
- Experience in managing and leading projects and preparing or reviewing technical reports;
- Practice good attention to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies;
- Have a good aptitude for using and understanding computer applications;
- Experience with artificial intelligence for use in the workplace is an asset;
- Have excellent oral communication and writing skills;
- Experience working in a multicultural environment;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team; and
- Strong ability to effectively communicate in English (Oral and written).
Note that the official working language at our Nunavut operations is English.
Your Work Schedule
- Temporary position – starting approximately November/December 2026 to March 2028 (materinity leave will be ~ January to December 2027).
- Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. A combination of tele-working with presence at our offices in either Val-d’Or, Rouyn-Noranda or Mirabel, QC, or meetings at other locations across Canada.
- Occasional visits to site may also be required; Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee.
- Agnico Eagle will accommodate to cover travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
