Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Research & Development Laboratory Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will support the development, testing, and evaluation of solder materials, including solder pastes, fluxes, and alloys. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on laboratory work, problem-solving, and working in a collaborative R&D environment.

Key responsabilities

Prepare and test solder pastes, fluxes, alloys, and other electronic assembly materials.
Perform laboratory testing following standard operating procedures and industry standards.
Operate and maintain laboratory equipment such as DSC, TGA, viscometers, rheometers, balances, and microscopes.
Prepare samples and accurately document test results.
Analyze data and assist in preparing technical reports.
Support product development, product validation, and continuous improvement projects.
Maintain laboratory equipment, inventory, and a clean, safe work environment.
Follow laboratory safety procedures and quality system requirements.
Collaborate with R&D, Quality, and Manufacturing teams.

Qualifications

College diploma (DEC), Laboratory Technician Diploma, or equivalent technical diploma in Chemistry, Chemical Technology, Laboratory Technology, Materials Science, or a related field.
Previous laboratory experience is an asset (R&D or manufacturing environment preferred).
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to accurately follow written procedures and document results.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with solder materials, fluxes, or electronic assembly materials.
Familiarity with IPC standards and laboratory testing methods.
Experience with thermal analysis (DSC/TGA) or viscosity testing is an asset.
Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) or ISO quality systems.

Nous sommes à la recherche d’un(e) technicien(ne) de laboratoire en recherche et développement (R&D) motivé(e), rigoureux(se) et soucieux(se) du détail pour se joindre à notre équipe. La personne retenue participera au développement, aux essais et à l’évaluation de matériaux de brasage électronique, notamment les pâtes à braser, les flux et les alliages. Ce poste convient parfaitement à une personne qui apprécie le travail pratique en laboratoire, la résolution de problèmes et la collaboration au sein d’un environnement de R&D dynamique.

Responsabilités principales:

Préparer et tester des pâtes à braser, des flux, des alliages et d’autres matériaux utilisés dans l’assemblage électronique.
Effectuer des essais en laboratoire conformément aux procédures opérationnelles normalisées et aux normes de l’industrie.
Utiliser et entretenir les équipements de laboratoire tels que les DSC (calorimètres différentiels à balayage), TGA (analyseurs thermogravimétriques), viscosimètres, rhéomètres, balances et microscopes.
Préparer les échantillons et documenter avec précision les résultats des essais.
Analyser les données et contribuer à la préparation de rapports techniques.
Soutenir les projets de développement de produits, de validation de produits et d’amélioration continue.
Assurer l’entretien des équipements de laboratoire, la gestion de l’inventaire ainsi que le maintien d’un environnement de travail propre et sécuritaire.
Respecter les procédures de sécurité en laboratoire et les exigences du système qualité.
Collaborer étroitement avec les équipes de R&D, Qualité et Fabrication.

Qualifications requises

Diplôme d’études collégiales (DEC), diplôme de technicien(ne) de laboratoire ou tout autre diplôme technique équivalent en chimie, technologie chimique, technologie de laboratoire, science des matériaux ou dans un domaine connexe.
Une expérience préalable en laboratoire constitue un atout (en environnement de R&D ou de fabrication de préférence).
Excellente attention aux détails et bonnes aptitudes organisationnelles.
Capacité à suivre rigoureusement des procédures écrites et à documenter les résultats avec précision.
Connaissance de base de la suite Microsoft Office (Excel, Word et Outlook).
Bonnes habiletés de communication et aptitude à travailler efficacement en équipe.
Capacité à gérer plusieurs priorités dans un environnement de travail rapide et dynamique.

Qualifications souhaitées

Expérience avec les matériaux de brasage, les flux ou les matériaux d’assemblage électronique.
Connaissance des normes IPC et des méthodes d’essais en laboratoire.
Expérience en analyse thermique (DSC/TGA) ou en essais de viscosité, un atout.
Connaissance des bonnes pratiques de laboratoire (BPL/GLP) ou des systèmes qualité ISO.
