Operations Insights (OI) enables the exploration of operational data through a range of enterprise data consumption solutions. The Data Management Team is the primary point of contact for all operational data needs, curating trusted data assets, developing KPIs and data models, and delivering standardized reporting and data solutions that support business units across the organization.
The Data Solutions Analyst position is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining enterprise data solutions by sourcing, integrating, and modelling operational and customer data for broad organizational consumption. This role develops scalable data pipelines and curated data models that support reporting, analytics, advanced visualization, and emerging AI/ML use cases across all branches of the organization.
Responsibilities:
Data Solution Design & Development
- Design, build, and maintain enterprise data solutions for operational and customer data.
- Develop scalable data pipelines and curated data models for organizational consumption.
- Implement data transformations, logic, and queries to deliver reliable metrics.
- Automate data processes and reporting to improve efficiency and scalability.
- Design interim or manual data solutions where automation is not yet feasible.
Data Integration & Sourcing
- Source and integrate data from key operational systems and datasets.
- Develop manual data extraction methods where automated access is unavailable.
- Support data ingestion and insertion into governed internal data environments.
- Collaborate with IT partners to align integration approaches with enterprise platforms and standards.
Data Quality & Governance
- Assess data quality and fitness for use in business and operational contexts.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve data anomalies and integrity issues.
- Implement data validation rules, controls, and monitoring mechanisms.
- Recommend design and process improvements to enhance data reliability.
- Ensure alignment with enterprise data governance frameworks and standards.
Data Consumption Enablement
- Enable reporting, analytics, and advanced visualization through well‑designed data assets.
- Support dashboards, KPIs, scorecards, and reports by delivering trusted modeled data.
- Provide data and analytical support for business cases and improvement initiatives.
- Develop data solutions that improve visibility into performance and operational trends.
Business Partnership and Collaboration
- Partner with business stakeholders to translate data needs into technical solutions.
- Collaborate with BI, analytics, and IT teams to deliver end‑to‑end data solutions.
- Present data findings, insights, and solution outcomes to stakeholders as required.
- Support enterprise and cross‑functional initiatives through trusted data delivery.
Knowledge Sharing and Continuous Improvement
- Share technical knowledge and data management best practices with team members.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of data processes, tools, and ways of working.
- Support testing of new data sources, pipelines, and changes to existing structures.
- Promote sustainable, well‑documented, and supportable data solutions.
- University degree or college diploma in Computer Science, Data Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience.
- Experience working with enterprise data platforms, including data integration, data management, and data warehousing solutions.
- Experience with data processing and storage platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Talend, and Snowflake.
- Experience with statistical or data analysis tools such as SAS, or other data mining and analytical programming tools.
- Proficiency in data and query languages, including SQL/T‑SQL, Python, DAX, and other database or scripting languages.
- Strong analytical, logical, and problem‑solving skills with a high attention to detail.
- Ability to design and deliver data solutions in a fast‑paced, evolving environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
- Self‑motivated and able to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
- Ability to understand the operational and financial implications of data‑driven decisions and support cost‑benefit analysis.
