The incumbent ensures that projects are properly executed to meet production objectives, while promoting ALC's quality and safety objectives. Additionally, this role encompasses Capital Project Manager responsibilities, leading end-to-end capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects, managing project budgets, timelines, and cross-functional project teams from initiation to closeout.

Key Responsibilities

Solves operating problems, assists in plant start-up and optimization, and implements planning and control techniques. Helps identify production problems, develop specifications for production procedures, revise existing procedures, and keep employees informed of company procedures and policies.

Anticipates production needs and identifies, recommends, and implements changes in plant processes, equipment, and systems to improve plant safety, reliability, and efficiency. Analyzes new equipment, optimizes resource utilization, and drives individual contributions and new working methods.

Evaluates industrial performance and proposes objectives based on production priorities and direction, ensuring project success and sustainable results. Evaluates and improves performance in safety, environment, production quality, profitability, equipment reliability, production capacity, and process improvement.

Manages local plant projects and acts as a facilitator for major projects managed by the project team, following up from planning to commissioning using standard project management processes. Ensures Management of Change (MOC) processes and documentation control are properly executed.

Manages capital project portfolios and budgets, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. Leads procurement, vendor negotiations, engineering design reviews, contractor oversight, and financial reporting for capital investments.

Partners with immediate and cross-functional teams to continuously improve work processes, analyze business operations, identify root causes of malfunctions, and propose effective corrective measures.

Contributes to the definition and implementation of safety and quality recommendations and procedures. Coaches and teaches others on risk management, performs audits, and conducts preventive actions. Identifies potential risks, implements corrective actions, ensures regulatory compliance and deadlines are met, and integrates risk prevention early into the design stage to ensure plant site safety and quality.

Upholds safety as our highest priority. Safety procedures and guidelines must be adhered to at all times, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, eye protection, hearing protection, flame-retardant clothing, and safety shoes throughout every work shift within various areas of the facility (including working at heights, confined spaces, and/or in loud and hot spaces).
