Original job description

AirPro SAR Services Inc., a joint venture between Airbus Defence and Space and PAL Aerospace, is proud to support Canada’s Fixed Wing Search and Rescue (FWSAR) program. Our mission is clear: keep Canada’s CC295 Kingfisher fleet mission-ready to save lives across one of the largest and most challenging search and rescue regions in the world. At AirPro, we manage all Integrated Support Services (ISS) activities encompassing engineering, logistics, maintenance, IT systems, infrastructure, and material support throughout the entire product lifecycle. Our dedicated team ensures that Canada’s state-of-the-art search and rescue aircraft are always mission-ready, performing at their peak when it matters most.

As the Configuration Management Specialist, you will play a key role in maintaining the integrity, traceability, and control of Canada's CC295 Kingfisher aircraft configuration throughout the fleet lifecycle.

Working within the Engineering and Integrated Logistics Support teams, you will coordinate configuration management activities and collaborate with stakeholders across AirPro, Airbus Defence and Space, PAL Aerospace, the Department of National Defence (DND), and the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF). Working closely with the Engineering Manager, you will support engineering changes, maintain aircraft baselines and configuration records, and help ensure that technical data remains accurate, controlled, and compliant with contractual and airworthiness requirements.

This position is ideal for a resourceful and self-directed professional who enjoys working with multiple stakeholders, navigating complex technical environments, and driving configuration-related initiatives to successful completion while developing expertise in defence aerospace programs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Act as the Configuration Management (CM) and Configuration Management System (CMS) subject matter expert and focal point, providing guidance and coordinating CM activities across project teams, engineering, logistics, technical publications, maintenance support, partner organizations, OEM, and the customer.
Establish, execute, and continuously improve CM activities, processes, procedures, tools, and governance practices in accordance with Engineering, Airworthiness, and CM procedures and standards.
Coordinate with internal and external partners to establish, maintain, and manage the Configuration Control Program for the aircraft Weapon System, including Configuration Identification and Configuration Change activities.
Support the development, review, implementation, and progression of Engineering Change Proposals and approved configuration changes.
Responsible for the execution and oversight of Configuration Status Accounting (CSA) activities, including:
Control and maintenance of aircraft configuration baselines (allowed and as-maintained) within the CMS.
Coordination and implementation of approved configuration changes within applicable program support systems.
Control and maintenance of CSA register and associated configuration records.
Monitoring configuration compliance and supporting continuing airworthiness activities.
Lead CM meetings, configuration reviews, Configuration Control Boards, Change Review Boards, and other applicable governance forums.
Independently identify configuration risks, discrepancies, and process gaps; recommend and implement corrective actions.
Drive configuration-related activities to completion while balancing operational requirements, stakeholder priorities, and program objectives.

Qualifications:

We are looking for candidates with the following experience:

Completion of a bachelor's degree or college diploma in a related field.
Minimum of 3 years' experience in a Configuration Management role.
1-3 years of experience in the aerospace industry an asset.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment, and exercise sound judgment when resolving configuration issues and advancing program objectives.
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate across multiple organizations and facilitate technical discussions.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities, with exceptional attention to detail.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications and information management tools.
Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Government of Canada Secret Security Clearance.
Ability to travel within Canada and internationally, as required

Equivalent combinations of education, military service, aviation experience, or technical support experience will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications (Assets):

Minimum of 3 years' experience in data management, technical data management, or controlled information systems.
Experience with Engineering Change Proposals, Configuration Control Boards, and configuration change processes.
Experience managing configuration baselines, technical records, and CSA.
Experience participating in configuration audits, compliance reviews, or configuration verification activities.
Experience supporting Integrated Logistics Support or In-Service Support programs.
Experience supporting aerospace, defence, military aviation, or other regulated technical programs.
Familiarity with DND, CAF, RCAF, or defence aerospace environments.
Experience working with Airbus products, aerospace OEMs, or military aircraft programs.
Experience supporting the Airbus C295 / CC295 Kingfisher aircraft program.

We encourage applications from professionals with experience in Configuration Management, Engineering Change Management, Technical Data Management, Integrated Logistics Support, Systems Engineering, aerospace engineering support, or other regulated technical environments.

The successful candidate will be highly organized, comfortable working independently, and capable of coordinating complex activities across multiple stakeholder organizations while driving configuration-related initiatives to completion.

What we offer:

Comprehensive health benefits including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance
Defined Contribution Pension Plan
Employee Stock Purchase Plan
Personal travel privileges with PAL and interline agreements with other airlines
Employee Tuition Assistance Program
Employee and Family Assistance Program
A hybrid working model (50/50), allowing for a minimum of 50% of your time in the office and up to 50% working from home

Join Us on This Meaningful Journey!

Your work will provide the foundation that supports engineering decisions, operational readiness, regulatory compliance, and long-term fleet sustainability.
