Commercial Transactions Analyst

Join a well-established Canadian energy company with a significant presence across upstream, midstream, and downstream operations. As a Commodity Transactions Analyst, you will support the actualization, pricing, settlement, and reporting of Crude Oil and NGL transactions while partnering with key commercial, trading, and finance stakeholders.
This position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced commodity marketing environment, providing critical support to the movement, valuation, and settlement of physical energy products.
This is an office-based position located in Calgary, Alberta.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage commodity actualization and volumetric data within ETRM systems.
- Reconcile shipper balances, inventory transfers, transportation movements, and settlement activities.
- Administer pricing, tariffs, demurrage, transportation fees, and other transaction-related charges.
- Support month-end settlement, invoicing, reporting, and risk management processes.
- Maintain pricing reports, price curves, and forecasting data.
- Investigate and resolve volumetric, pricing, and settlement discrepancies.
- Collaborate with Trading, Scheduling, Finance, and external counterparties to ensure transaction accuracy.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in commodity transactions, settlements, actualization, pricing, or commodity marketing.
- Experience supporting physical Crude Oil, NGL, refined products, or energy trading operations.
- Strong understanding of transaction settlement, pricing, reconciliation, and volumetric reporting.
- Experience with ETRM systems such as Allegro, RightAngle, Endur, Egistix, or similar platforms is highly preferred.
- Advanced Excel, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work across multiple business functions.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience supporting physical Crude Oil and/or NGL transactions, with responsibility for actualization, pricing, settlements, volumetric reconciliations, shipper balances, and transportation-related fees. They have worked closely with Trading, Scheduling, Risk, and Finance teams in a commodity marketing, midstream, or energy trading environment and are comfortable managing high volumes of transactional data within ETRM systems while ensuring accuracy and timely settlement.
