Electrical QA Advisor
Location: Fort Saskatchewan, AB
Contract: Long-Term Contract Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Electrical QA Advisor to support a major capital project in the Fort Saskatchewan area. Working as part of the owner's project team, the successful candidate will provide field-based quality assurance oversight throughout construction, commissioning, and project execution activities.
This position is focused on quality assurance, construction oversight, and contractor engagement rather than traditional quality control inspection. The Electrical QA Advisor will act as the owner's representative in the field, ensuring electrical installations are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the owner's field representative for electrical quality assurance activities.
- Monitor contractor performance and workmanship throughout construction and installation activities.
- Verify compliance with project specifications, codes, standards, and quality requirements.
- Participate in field inspections, walkdowns, testing, commissioning, and turnover activities.
- Identify quality concerns and work collaboratively with contractors and project teams to facilitate timely resolution.
- Review electrical construction practices and ensure work is completed in accordance with approved drawings and procedures.
- Support deficiency management, punch-list activities, and final project turnover.
- Interface with construction, engineering, commissioning, and operations stakeholders.
- Promote a strong culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement across the project.
Qualifications
- Red Seal Journeyperson Electrician certification required.
- Master Electrician designation considered a strong asset.
- 10+ years of industrial electrical experience within oil & gas, petrochemical, mining, LNG, power generation, or other heavy industrial environments.
- Demonstrated experience supporting large-scale construction or capital projects.
- Previous experience in a QA, construction oversight, owner's representative, superintendent, or field leadership capacity is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of electrical installation practices, testing, commissioning, and turnover processes.
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings, specifications, inspection and test plans, and construction documentation.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skills.
