Our client, a major Oil and Gas company, is looking for an Intermediate Project Manager to join their team on a 1-year contract in Calgary.
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Intermediate Project Manager to join our Engineering & Construction team and support a portfolio of small to mid-sized capital projects. This role is responsible for leading projects through all phases of execution, including engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning, while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with technical and operational requirements.
The successful candidate will be a strong communicator and relationship builder, capable of coordinating multiple stakeholders and managing several projects concurrently in a dynamic industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and execution of multiple capital projects from initiation through commissioning and closeout.
- Coordinate engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning (EPCC) activities to ensure successful project delivery.
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, scopes, and resource plans.
- Monitor project performance and proactively identify and mitigate risks, issues, and potential schedule impacts.
- Manage project change control processes and maintain accurate project documentation.
- Coordinate internal and external stakeholders, including engineering teams, operations personnel, contractors, vendors, and regulatory bodies.
- Facilitate project meetings and provide regular progress updates to leadership and key stakeholders.
- Ensure projects are executed in compliance with safety, quality, environmental, and corporate standards.
- Support project forecasting, reporting, and capital planning activities.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline.
- Approximately 7-12 years of project management experience in industrial, energy, oil & gas, petrochemical, or related sectors.
- Demonstrated experience leading engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning (EPCC) activities.
- Strong experience managing project scope, schedule, cost, and risk.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and coordination skills.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Preferred
- Experience with sour gas processing facilities is considered a strong asset.
- Professional Project Management designation (PMP) is considered an asset.
- Experience working in operational industrial facilities and brownfield environments.
