IT Technical Developer (IBM Maximo)

Location: Calgary, AB

Work Arrangement: Hybrid (4 days onsite, 1 day remote)

Type: Contract opportunity (12 months with possibility for extension)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced IT Technical Developer / Analyst specializing in IBM Maximo to support the enhancement, customization, integration, and ongoing optimization of a large-scale Maximo environment.

This is a highly technical position focused on IBM Maximo development and administration. Industry experience is not required; however, candidates must demonstrate strong expertise in Maximo development, configuration, and integration capabilities.

The successful candidate will work closely with business and technical stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions, improve system functionality, and support ongoing application initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain IBM Maximo solutions and customizations
• Configure and enhance Maximo applications, workflows, and business processes
• Develop automation scripts and technical solutions within the Maximo platform
• Build and maintain integrations using the Maximo Integration Framework (MIF)
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions
• Troubleshoot application issues and provide technical support
• Develop and optimize SQL queries, reports, and data extraction processes
• Participate in system upgrades, enhancements, and deployment activities
• Ensure system performance, reliability, and scalability
• Support testing, documentation, and knowledge transfer activities

Required Qualifications

• 6+ years of hands-on IBM Maximo experience
• Strong technical expertise in IBM Maximo Asset Management and/or Maximo Application Suite (MAS)
• Experience with Maximo Integration Framework (MIF)
• Experience developing automation scripts using Jython, Python, or similar technologies
• Strong SQL and database experience
• Experience working with REST APIs and system integrations
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Maximo Application Suite (MAS)
• BIRT reporting experience
• Java development experience
• Experience with Maximo Mobile
• Experience participating in Maximo upgrades, migrations, or implementations
• Experience integrating Maximo with ERP, GIS, or other enterprise platforms
