Airswift is currently representing a leading renewable energy organization seeking a NERC Compliance Supervisor to support and strengthen compliance programs within an Operations Control Centre environment overseeing utility-scale renewable energy assets, including solar photovoltaic (PV) and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) facilities.

This position plays a critical role in supporting regulatory compliance, operational excellence, audit readiness, documentation control, and workforce preparedness across a diverse portfolio of generation assets. The successful candidate will work closely with operations teams, engineering, cybersecurity, compliance specialists, and leadership stakeholders to ensure regulatory requirements are effectively integrated into daily operations.

The organization operates a large portfolio of renewable energy assets across multiple jurisdictions and maintains registered entity obligations throughout North America.

Key Responsibilities;

Support the implementation, administration, and continuous improvement of NERC compliance programs applicable to Operations Control Centre activities.
Interpret reliability standards and translate requirements into practical operating procedures and workflows.
Monitor compliance obligations affecting control centre operations and ensure documentation, actions, and reporting requirements are completed on schedule.
Remain current with emerging NERC standards, regional requirements, and regulatory developments.
Collaborate with operations leadership to evaluate the impact of new or revised compliance obligations.
Support operators and supervisory personnel in executing work in accordance with approved procedures and reliability requirements.
Review operational practices, records, logs, and workflows to identify compliance risks and gaps.
Ensure personnel understand compliance responsibilities related to communications, event logging, evidence retention, and escalation protocols.
Promote procedural consistency and operational discipline across all shifts.
Develop controls and processes to support demonstrable compliance during audits and assessments.

Procedures & Documentation Management

Develop, maintain, and update operational procedures, work instructions, checklists, and compliance documentation.
Ensure procedures align with applicable regulatory requirements and operational best practices.
Support document control processes for compliance-related materials.
Coordinate periodic procedure reviews and implementation of revisions.
Maintain comprehensive and audit-ready compliance records.

Evidence Management & Audit Readiness

Oversee collection, validation, retention, and organization of compliance evidence.
Support self-assessments, internal reviews, mock audits, and readiness initiatives.
Assist with audit responses, information requests, and regulatory reviews.
Track corrective actions, findings, and remediation activities through completion.
Ensure evidence remains complete, traceable, and compliant with retention requirements.

Compliance Monitoring & Continuous Improvement

Review operational logs, communications records, shift turnovers, and other compliance-sensitive activities.
Identify procedural drift, documentation gaps, and areas requiring corrective action.
Support investigations, root cause analysis, and lessons learned activities following compliance issues or operational events.
Track improvement initiatives and corrective action plans to closure.
Recommend enhancements to tools, processes, and compliance controls.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner with Operations, Engineering, Asset Management, Cybersecurity, IT, Compliance, and Document Control teams.
Serve as a primary point of contact for compliance-related questions and process guidance within the control centre environment.
Support interactions with auditors, consultants, reliability organizations, and external stakeholders.
Assist leadership in balancing operational requirements with regulatory obligations and risk management priorities.

Reporting & Leadership Support

Prepare reports, dashboards, and metrics related to compliance performance, training completion, audit readiness, and corrective action status.
Provide visibility into compliance risks, recurring trends, and operational improvement opportunities.
Support long-term compliance planning and program development initiatives.
Coordinate activities of analysts, coordinators, or support personnel as required.
Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Education

Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Power Engineering, Renewable Energy, Operations Management, or a related technical discipline preferred.
Equivalent industry experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.

Experience

Minimum 5 years of experience in control room operations, utility operations, power generation, renewable energy operations, grid operations, or a related field.
Minimum 2 years of supervisory, leadership, senior operator, or shift lead experience preferred.
Direct experience supporting utility-scale solar PV and/or BESS assets is highly desirable.
Experience within a 24/7 operations environment.
Familiarity with SCADA systems, alarm management, operational reporting, and event tracking platforms.
Direct experience supporting NERC-registered entities and compliance program execution.
Demonstrated experience applying NERC reliability standards within control room environments.
Previous involvement in compliance audits, audit preparation, and regulatory reviews.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Strong working knowledge of NERC reliability standards and compliance frameworks.
