Original job description

We are seeking experienced Quality Specialists to support the construction and delivery of a major LNG expansion project in Kitimat, British Columbia.

These positions will play a key role in promoting a strong quality culture across the project, working closely with EPC contractors and project stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of quality management systems, risk-based quality processes, contractor oversight, and flawless project delivery practices.

Project Details

Location: Kitimat, British Columbia

Assignment Term: Through June 2031

Schedule: Initially 5 days/week (8-hour days), with potential transition to a rotational schedule as project activity increases.

Accommodation: Camp accommodation provided.

Responsibilities

Promote a strong safety and quality culture throughout project execution.
Support implementation of project quality management systems and quality plans.
Drive a "No Defects" approach to construction and project delivery.
Monitor quality performance, trends, KPIs, and improvement initiatives.
Participate in quality audits, assessments, and reviews.
Review contractor quality deliverables and ensure compliance with project requirements.
Support management of technical queries, deviations, non-conformances, and corrective actions.
Work closely with EPC contractors to ensure quality requirements are understood and effectively implemented.
Support risk-based quality management processes, including lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives.
Contribute to asset integrity, technical assurance, and quality risk mitigation activities.
Assist with construction completions, mechanical completion, turnover, commissioning readiness, and final handover activities.
Ensure quality records, documentation, and project communications are maintained in accordance with project requirements.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across engineering, construction, commissioning, completions, and operations.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
Minimum 5 years' experience in Quality Assurance.
Experience supporting major industrial construction projects.
Experience working within EPC or EPCM project environments.
Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS).
Experience with audits, contractor quality oversight, inspections, quality planning, and compliance activities.
Familiarity with risk management methodologies and quality improvement programs.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work effectively within large, multidisciplinary project teams.

Preferred Experience

LNG, Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refining, Power, Mining, or other major industrial projects.
Construction-site experience on large capital projects.
Quality support during commissioning, start-up, completions, and turnover.
Bowtie risk management experience.
Flawless Project Delivery (FPD) or similar project quality programs.
Brownfield project experience.
Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation.
