About the Opportunity
Salary - 170-190k
We are currently looking for a Director, Estimating to provide strategic leadership to the Estimating function for our major projects. Reporting to the Vice President, this individual will play a key role in developing bidding strategies, providing commercial direction for tenders, and continuously improving our estimating practices.
Responsibilities:
- Define and implement the estimating strategy for major infrastructure projects.
- Oversee the entire estimation cycle, from opportunity analysis to final submission.
- Ensure the integrity, quality and competitiveness of estimates by integrating risks, opportunities and performance strategies.
- Lead executive reviews of estimates and make recommendations to senior management.
- Collaborate closely with the Operations, Engineering, Procurement, Finance and Business Development teams to develop winning strategies.
- Develop, mentor and mobilize a high-performing estimating team.
- Promote the continuous improvement of estimation processes, tools and best practices.
Desired profile
- University degree in engineering, construction management or related field.
- Minimum of 15 years of estimating experience in the infrastructure or heavy construction sector.
- Demonstrated experience in preparing estimates for very large projects.
- Strong understanding of business strategies, risk management and project delivery methods.
- Recognized leadership and excellent ability to influence high-level stakeholders.
Excellent English proficiency is essential due to ongoing collaboration with the Toronto head office, while French is required to serve French-speaking teams in Quebec.
