A leading Canadian organization in the insurance and financial services sector is seeking a highly experienced Lead Developer with deep expertise in Guidewire PolicyCenter and BillingCenter. This role will play a critical part in driving technical delivery, solution design, and development leadership across key enterprise initiatives.
About this opportunity:
We are seeking a seasoned Lead Developer with extensive Guidewire PolicyCenter and BillingCenter experience to lead the design, development, and implementation of complex insurance technology solutions. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, mentor development teams, and collaborate closely with business and technology stakeholders to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions.
This position is ideal for a hands-on technical leader who combines strong solution architecture capabilities with Guidewire development expertise and a passion for driving successful project outcomes.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead the design, development, configuration, and implementation of Guidewire PolicyCenter and BillingCenter solutions, providing hands-on technical leadership and solution architecture guidance.
- Translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable technical solutions while participating in architecture reviews, technical decision-making, and adherence to Guidewire development standards and best practices.
- Develop and support integrations using REST and SOAP APIs, perform code reviews, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and optimize application performance.
- Mentor development teams, promote technical excellence, and collaborate with Business Analysts, Product Owners, QA teams, and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Contribute to project estimations, planning, delivery management, implementation, and deployment while ensuring high-quality solutions and effective cross-functional collaboration.
What You Bring:
- 8+ years of hands-on experience with Guidewire PolicyCenter and/or BillingCenter.
- Strong expertise in Guidewire Configuration and/or Integration development.
- Guidewire ACE Certification in PolicyCenter or BillingCenter (Configuration or Integration).
- Proven experience in solution design and technical architecture.
- Demonstrated experience leading development teams or technical workstreams.
- Strong experience developing and supporting REST and SOAP API integrations.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience working within Agile delivery environments.
Nice to Have
- Experience with other Guidewire products including ClaimCenter, Digital, DataHub, or InfoCenter.
- Knowledge of enterprise integration patterns and cloud-based architectures.
- Experience within the insurance industry.
- Familiarity with modern DevOps and CI/CD practices.
