Project Description
We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Integration Specialist to support the DTS Modernization Project through the design, development, and implementation of cloud-native integration solutions on the OpenShift platform. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java, Apache Camel, MuleSoft, and API-based integrations, with experience delivering secure, scalable, and maintainable enterprise integration services. Experience designing and implementing enterprise integration solutions using MuleSoft across complex application landscapes is highly desirable.
The resource will be working in a hybrid mode, with a minimum of 3 days in-person from Metro Hall located at 55 John Street in Toronto. Mondays and Wednesdays will be designated anchor days, while the resource may select the third in-office day based on operational requirements and team coordination. The successful candidate will be working seven (7) hours per day, five (5) days per week based on normal working Business Hours.

Description
- Education & Foundation: Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline with experience delivering large-scale enterprise IT solutions.
- Cloud & Platforms: Expertise in OpenShift/Kubernetes for containerized deployments; experience with AWS services (Lambda, SQS, S3) is an asset.
- Enterprise Integration: Advanced experience with Apache Camel, MuleSoft, Enterprise Java, REST APIs, and data transformation technologies (JSON/XML). Experience designing, developing, and supporting MuleSoft integration flows, APIs, and reusable integration services in enterprise environments is strongly preferred.
- Ecosystem Knowledge: Experience integrating enterprise applications, including CRM, ERP, asset management, training management, document management, and regulatory/compliance systems.
- Data & Reliability: Strong SQL skills and knowledge of fault-tolerant integration patterns, including retries, dead-letter queues (DLQ), monitoring, and data consistency approaches.
- Modern DevOps: Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, source control, automated testing, and infrastructure-as-code.
- Architecture & Design: Ability to design complex integration solutions, map data flows, and produce clear architectural and technical documentation. Experience applying integration patterns and API-led connectivity principles in MuleSoft-based architectures is an asset.
- Business Translation: Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to translate business requirements into technical integration specifications.
- Collaborative Leadership: Ability to work across multiple teams, facilitate technical discussions, and resolve data ownership, governance, and integration challenges
Assignment Duties:
- Collaborates with business and technical inter-divisional staff and professional services to deliver and sustain API development and integration solutions through the life cycle and reports progress to manager, stakeholders and team members and ensures successful delivery of solutions adhering to project management methodology
- Determines requirements, analyzes and recommends feasible options, designs, builds and/or codes, acquires, tests, and implements enterprise information structures and applications, to meet critical City-wide and divisional business objectives and to provide a scalable enterprise solution
- Applies technical expertise to recommend, develop and maintain corporate policies, procedures and standards that are consistent with legislation to ensure enterprise information and applications integrity
- Applies technical expertise to ensure security, privacy and quality assurance requirements are implemented in a manner that delivers business requirements and is consistent with MFIPPA and legislation, thereby ensuring the integrity of complex enterprise information and applications
- Develops and/or applies complex business and application models, information structures, data models, data schemas, technical program code, network and security interfaces, data and application design as governed by architectural frameworks, technology standards, information policies and legislative requirements
