Warehouse Management Java Developer

Position: WCS/R&D Engineer - (JAVA)

Duration: 12 month assignment (contract)

Client Location: Brantford, Ontario

About the Engagement

Akkodis is seeking the services of an experienced WCS/R&D Engineer - (JAVA) consultant to support On-site software deployment and testing for P&G (Procter & Gamble) Canada Logistics Tech project.

Role: WCS/R&D Engineer

Key Responsibilities

1. Implementation & Support: Handle on-site WCS deployment, debugging, optimization, and user training to ensure stable go-live.
2. Java Development: Participate in requirement analysis and develop core modules using Java (SpringBoot, MyBatis).
3. Troubleshooting: Resolve technical faults during implementation and operation; ensure on-time delivery.
4. Documentation: Create implementation docs, operation manuals, and troubleshooting guides.
5. Coordination: Act as a bridge between clients, R&D, electrical, and mechanical teams for efficient integration.
6. Algorithm Optimization: Optimize logistics scheduling algorithms to enhance warehouse efficiency.

Job Requirements

1. Education: Bachelor’s degree or above in CS, Software Engineering, Logistics, Automation, or related fields.
2. Tech Stack: 2+ years of Java experience; proficient in SpringBoot, SpringMVC, MyBatis, and MySQL.
3. Domain Knowledge: WCS/WMS experience preferred; familiar with AGV, stacker crane, and conveyor logic.
4. System Skills: Proficient in Linux operations; capable of independent deployment and rapid problem-solving.
5. Hardware Understanding: Understand industrial electrical controls, PLCs, sensors, and communication protocols.
6. Soft Skills: Strong communication, stress resistance, and willingness for long-term travel/on-site work.
