Job Opportunity

Alamos Gold Inc. Young-Davidson is currently recruiting the following challenging position to join our operations team:

Exploration Geologist

Alamos Gold is a Canadian-based gold producer with a long-term track record of creating value for all stakeholders through solid financial performance, low-cost production growth, and a company-wide commitment to social responsibility and environmental stewardship. We currently operate three mines – two in Canada and one in Mexico – and we have a strong portfolio of development stage projects, including the Lynn Lake Project and Island Gold Phase 3+ Expansion in Canada, and Puerto Del Aire Project in Mexico. Alamos also has an early-stage exploration project in Canada, the Qiqavik Gold Project. Our core values of safety, teamwork, environmental sustainability, integrity, and commitment allow our more than 1,900 dedicated team members to thrive in their careers and to create a lasting legacy that benefits all Alamos stakeholders.

Alamos Gold’s Young-Davidson is a low-cost, long-life operation and one of Canada’s largest underground gold mines. It is located near the town of Matachewan centrally located between Timmins, Kirkland Lake, North Bay and Sudbury, Ontario. The 2020 completion of a highly automated, lower mine expansion has resulted in Young-Davidson increasing production and generating strong free cash flow. With a large Mineral Reserve base, it will serve as Alamos’ foundation for growth for many years to come. This is a very exciting time at Young-Davidson, and we are searching for highly motivated and committed people to join our team!

Join Us in Shaping the Future of Talent Development!

If you are willing to be part of a team that is dedicated to growth, high performance and a culture of safety and accountability, we would like to hear from you!

Role Overview

As an Exploration Geologist, you will play a strategic role in supporting and advancing exploration initiatives within the Young-Davidson Mine area. You will be responsible for leading and executing initiatives related to geological data collection, interpretation, and exploration program support. Working closely with Senior Exploration Geologists and cross-functional teams, you will contribute to effective exploration planning, foster continuous improvement, and enhance overall exploration performance.

Key Responsibilities

Geological Data Collection & Analysis: Collect, organize, and interpret geological data from diamond drilling, field mapping, surface sampling, and re-logging of historic drill core.
Data Management & Best Practices: Ensure industry best practices are followed for geological logging, sampling, and database management.
Exploration Planning Support: Collaborate with senior geologists to interpret geological information and support exploration programs and work plans.
Geological Modeling: Contribute to deposit- and regional-scale geological modeling to support resource development and targeting.
Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance: Uphold strong safety, environmental, and operational standards at all times while contributing to a positive safety culture.

What You Bring to the Table

5–10 years of experience in mineral exploration, with expertise in core logging, sampling, and geological interpretation.
Proven track record supporting exploration programs and contributing to geological modeling and data analysis.
Bachelor’s degree in Geology or Earth Sciences; registered or eligible for registration as a Geologist in Training (GIT) or Professional Geologist (P.Geo).
Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills with a self-motivated approach to work.
Experience with Leapfrog, ArcGIS, and SQL databases is considered an asset.
Passion for mineral exploration, gold deposit systems, and continuous learning in geological sciences.

Why Join Us?

Be part of an organization that values safety, environmental stewardship, and community engagement.
Opportunity to contribute to meaningful exploration work in a well-established mining district.
Work alongside experienced and dynamic geological teams committed to operational excellence.
Competitive salary and benefits package.
