Original job description

About Alamos Gold Inc.: Alamos Gold is a Canadian-based gold producer with a long-term track record of creating value for all stakeholders through solid financial performance, low-cost production growth, and a company-wide commitment to social responsibility and environmental stewardship. We currently operate three mines – two in Canada and one in Mexico – and we have a strong portfolio of development stage projects, including the Lynn Lake Project and Island Gold Phase 3+ Expansion in Canada, and Puerto Del Aire Project in Mexico. Alamos also has an early-stage exploration project in Canada, the Qiqavik Gold Project. Our core values of safety, teamwork, environmental sustainability, integrity, and commitment allow our more than 1,900 dedicated team members to thrive in their careers and to create a lasting legacy that benefits all Alamos stakeholders.

About Island Gold District: Alamos Gold’s Island Gold District will become one of the largest and lowest-cost gold mines in Canada. With the two mines within the district, Island Gold and Magino employ over 900 team members who work in the underground and open pit operations and are located in northern Ontario, just east of the town of Dubreuilville, 83 kilometres northeast of Wawa. Through ongoing exploration success, Island Gold District’s Mineral Reserves and Resources have continued to grow in size and quality. Join the Island Gold District team and be a part of the long-life mining operations, as we prioritize our employee growth, high performance and a culture of safety and accountability.

Compile, validate, manage, and interpret geological, geochemical, geophysical, and assay datasets to support exploration decisions.
Develop geological interpretations, cross-sections, longitudinal sections, and three-dimensional geological models.
Generate and refine exploration targets through integration of geological, structural, geophysical, geochemical, and operational datasets.
Design drill holes and recommend follow-up drilling programs to improve geological understanding and resource confidence.
Monitor drilling progress and provide ongoing technical direction to drilling contractors and field personnel.
Conduct drill-site inspections, workplace observations, and field audits to ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards.
Apply and maintain exploration QA/QC procedures, sampling protocols, database standards, and technical best practices.
Review assay results and QA/QC performance and identify potential issues requiring corrective action.
Prepare accurate daily, weekly, monthly, and project-based technical reports, maps, presentations, and exploration updates.
Coordinate field logistics, contractor activities, material requirements, and exploration support services.
Track assigned exploration expenditures and assist with program cost forecasting and budget monitoring.
Collaborate with Mine Geology, Resource Geology, Technical Services, Engineering, and Operations personnel to support exploration and resource growth initiatives.
Contribute geological input to short- and medium-term exploration planning and drill program development.
Mentor junior geologists, geological technicians, and students through technical guidance, coaching, and field training.
Support geological modelling, resource development, and technical evaluations as required.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to exploration practices, workflows, safety performance, and technical quality.
