Reliability Technician/Engineer

Alamos Gold’s Young-Davidson is a low-cost, long-life operation and one of Canada’s largest underground gold mines. It is located near the town of Matachewan centrally located between Timmins, Kirkland Lake, North Bay and Sudbury, Ontario. The 2020 completion of a highly automated, lower mine expansion has resulted in Young-Davidson increasing production and generating strong free cash flow. With a large Mineral Reserve base, it will serve as Alamos’ foundation for growth for many years to come. Role Overview
As the Reliability Technician / Engineer, you will play a key role in improving equipment reliability, reducing unplanned downtime, and enhancing asset performance across both Fixed Plant and Mobile Maintenance operations at Young-Davidson Mine. You will be responsible for supporting reliability initiatives, maintenance strategies, failure investigations, predictive maintenance programs, and business improvement projects.
Working closely with Maintenance, Operations, Planning, Tradespeople, Supervisors, OEMs, and Contractors, you will help identify performance improvement opportunities and implement sustainable solutions that improve equipment availability and maintenance efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Reliability Improvement: Support reliability initiatives across Fixed Plant and underground mobile equipment to improve asset performance and reduce downtime.
- Failure Analysis: Analyze equipment failures, maintenance history, and performance trends while facilitating root cause failure analysis (RCFA) and corrective actions.
- Maintenance Strategy Development: Assist with the development and optimization of preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Field Support & Investigation: Conduct equipment inspections, investigate failures, and provide technical support to maintenance personnel.
- Project & Business Improvement: Support maintenance and reliability projects, equipment modifications, technology implementation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
What You Bring to the Table
- Experience in maintenance, reliability, mining, mineral processing, heavy industrial maintenance, or mobile equipment maintenance.
- Proven ability to analyze equipment performance, identify root causes, and implement practical reliability improvements.
- Licensed Industrial Millwright, Heavy Duty Equipment Technician, Electrician, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Technologist, or Engineering Degree in a related discipline.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience using SAP PM, CMMS platforms, reliability software, and equipment monitoring systems.
- Passion for equipment reliability, maintenance excellence, and continuous improvement.

Working Conditions
- Work Schedule: 4 days on / 3 days off or 7 days on / 7 days off rotation.

Salary Range: CAD $98,600 - $147,900
The expected salary range for this role is intended to support transparency and informed decision making. Final compensation will be based on skills, experience and internal equity.
