Your Opportunity:
The Cardiac Clinic and Diagnostics department is currently recruiting a permanent full-time Admin IV for the busy and fast-paced cardiology services department. Reporting to the Unit Manager, they will help complete clerical tasks associated with multiple clinics and cardiac diagnostic departments. The Admin IV plays an assisting role in helping to foster a team environment in the clinic by facilitating communication between nursing and other health disciplines, other hospital departments, patients, and families and in maintaining confidentiality of patient information. The admin IV will be tasked with the following: Supporting the team with management of patient referrals. Booking follow-up appointments and procedures in Connect Care. Checking in patients for appointments. Completing and sending referrals for various diagnostic tests. Chart management in Connect Care. Completion of reminder patient phone calls when needed. Sending and receiving departmental mail. The successful candidate must possess strong interpersonal skills, demonstrate an ability to clearly communicate in stressful situations, and consistently execute attention to detail in work performance. This role also requires a strong ability to multi-task, successfully complete work while managing numerous interruptions, demonstrate flexibility to learn workflows associated with each diagnostic area or clinic, and independently implement problem solving strategies. The successful candidate must have a comprehensive understanding of patient and family-centered care and a demonstrated ability to enhance patient care experience. Additionally, the unit clerk will always maintain Alberta Health Services privacy standards.

Required Qualifications:

Additional Required Qualifications:
Medical Terminology Course and or Unit Clerk Course. Minimum 3 years working in an ambulatory setting in the last 5 years. Cardiac booking experience, minimum of 1 year in the last 3 years. Experience working within workques in Connect Care. Proficiency with the following IT systems: Connect Care and Netcare, Outlook, Excel, Internet Explorer. Must be able to sit for prolonged periods to time. Must be able to work at a computer, typing, and mousing for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time. Experience in ambulatory programs in Connect Care including referral coordinator, template build, schegistrar and Ambulatory Unit Clerk required. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Excellent organizational, prioritizing and time management skills required. Proficient English language skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in ambulatory cardiac diagnostic clinic, booking MPI, CTA's, MUGA and Calcium score testing, Holter, Event Monitors and BP monitoring testing. Proficiency with IT Systems. Connect Care. Right Fax. Netcare. MUSE. Impax. APPROACH.
