The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Home Care works as a member of an interprofessional health care team utilizing the nursing process to provide direct nursing care to individuals across the life span. The LPN is responsible for her/his nursing practice as defined by the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). In collaboration with the Registered Nurse Case Manager, the LPN is responsible to assess, plan, implement and evaluate the needs of Home Care clients and their caregivers/families. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of Assisted Living Alberta.

Transition Company: Assisted Living Alberta Classification: Licensed Practical Nurse Union: AUPE AUX Unit and Program: Adults Team, Home Care Primary Location: East Calgary Health Centre Location Details: As Per Location Multi-Site: Not Applicable FTE: 1.00 Posting End Date: 26-OCT-2026 Temporary Employee Class: Temp F/T Benefits Date Available: 05-NOV-2026 Temporary End Date: 05-OCT-2027 Hours per Shift: 7.75 Length of Shift in weeks: 12 Shifts per cycle: 60 Shift Pattern: Days, Weekends Days Off: As Per Rotation Minimum Salary: $33.16 Maximum Salary: $43.42 Vehicle Requirement: Driver's License, Vehicle Required
Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:
Completion of a post-basic Medication Administration and CVAD certification for LPN’s. A keen interest in wound care and a willingness to acquire expertise through education and training. Handling, moving and lifting heavy or awkward equipment and/or individuals are required. A team player with excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills. Ability to perform all work related duties in accordance with regulated legislature.
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum of two years current nursing experience with one year in a community based setting preferred. Experience working in the Community a definite asset. Home Care experience a definite asset.

Responsibilities
