You will work in collaboration with Seniors Home-Based Primary Care (SHBPC) physicians and NP’s, ensuring coordinated and comprehensive care. As a Nurse Practitioner (NP), you will provide a full range of comprehensive health services to individuals across their lifespan. You will be responsible for integrating clinical skills associated with nursing and medicine to assess, diagnose, order, and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe treatment, and perform procedures to manage and meet the health needs of patients. Additionally, you will utilize advanced practice nursing competencies related to Clinical Practice, Leadership and Optimizing Health Systems, Education, and Research to increase care quality, promote appropriate use of health services, and inform and influence healthcare systems. Required Qualifications:
Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program, with a minimum of a Master's degree. Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) on the Nurse Practitioner Registrar, including Provisional Graduate Nurse Practitioner licensure. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:
Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) as a Nurse Practitioner in the appropriate stream (e.g., Family/All Ages, Adult). Completion of a Master’s degree in Nursing A vehicle for business use. Possession of a valid driver’s license and access to a motor vehicle in good condition for work-related travel. Knowledge of and ability to support change management. Advanced Microsoft office skills. Proficiency in MS Outlook and MS Teams, ConnectCare and Netcare. You will be responsible to operate a laptop computer and mobile phone, and for manual handling (lifting, lowering, carrying, pushing and pulling) as a regular part of the job. Eg//A push/pull of up to 50lbs for compression therapy on a regular basis is an expectation of this job Experience in research and best practice implementation. Minimum of 3 years experience with older adults in the community Proven experience with teaching, supervision, coaching and mentorship Ability to collaborate with stakeholders within and outside of AHS. Proven initiative, autonomy, conflict resolution & critical thinking skills Required to operate a laptop and mobile phone, and for manual handling (lifting, lowering, carrying, pushing and pulling) as a regular part of the job. eg/ lifting of approximately 30 lb in and out of a vehicle on a regular basis, carrying this weight up/down stairs daily. Learning resources and training are provided to safely perform work.
Preferred Qualifications:
Excellent written & verbal skills with continuing education in the area of the older adult. Self-directedness in organizing work, prioritize & flexibility in meeting the unexpected spontaneous needs of a clinical area. Function effectively & collaboratively within a client and family centered care team of health care professionals and support staff. CNA certification in Gerontology.
