Original job description

Your Opportunity:

The NICU, PCICU and PICU at the Stollery Children’s Hospital are dedicated to the provision of the state-of-the-art care to critically ill children up to 18 years of age. Since opening in 2001, the Stollery has developed as a specialized site with expertise and programs to ensure children who require inpatient services receive the best possible care. Highly-skilled child health professionals from around the world have made the Stollery a well-recognized center for specialized pediatric services. The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is a highly specialized unit with advanced medical technology which provides comprehensive 24 hour care for critically ill newborns and their families. The PCICU is the referral center for the Western Canadian Children's Heart Network and receives approximately 450 children/year post open heart surgery, making it the second busiest congenital heart surgery program in Canada. It is also the ECMO/VAD referral site for most of Western Canada. All forms of non-cardiac pediatric critical illness are managed at the Stollery Children’s Hospital PICU. The successful applicant will support 2 out of 3 of these critical care areas.
