Reporting to the Unit Manager of the Stollery Pediatric Cardiology Ambulatory Services, the incumbent leads pediatric preventive care initiatives, including coordination of care for patients with dyslipidemia and hypertension, and the development and implementation of a medically supervised Exercise Medicine Program for children with cardiac conditions. Decisions are made in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. Description:
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $40.76 to $55.79 per hour. Upon obtaining a full practice permit, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii), as applicable.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Minimum 10 years of Pediatric Cardiology experience required, including at least one year in Pediatric Preventive Cardiology. Experience in case management, preventive cardiology, pediatric learning theory, evidence-based practice, and curriculum development required. Ability to provide patient and family education related to pediatric dyslipidemia and hypertension management. Experience with pediatric exercise assessment and exercise program implementation required. Ability to implement clinic protocols, coordinate care with primary care providers, and facilitate appropriate referrals. Strong communication, presentation, planning, organizational, problem-solving, critical-thinking, and analytical skills required. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, support quality improvement initiatives, maintain program data, and develop guidelines. Must be self-directed, adaptable, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively both independently and within an interdisciplinary team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Calendar, and MS Teams, required. Must be physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs., pushing and pulling patients and equipment, and tolerating prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience as an educator or clinical instructor preferred. Experience in designing and delivering evidence-based, innovative, and learner-centric educational programs. Familiarity with simulation-based learning and other advanced educational technologies. Experience with project management and program development preferred. Connect Care experience, including reporting a definite asset. Netcare training and experience preferred. Advanced Excel and PowerPoint a definite asset.
