As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $40.76 to $55.79 per hour. Upon obtaining a full practice permit, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii), as applicable.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
Additional Required Qualifications:
This is an ON-SITE position. Completion of an accredited undergraduate nursing education program with at least 2 years of nursing experience. BCLS-HCP from Heart and Stroke Foundation within the last 12 months. There is also an expectation to be a mobile worker. This role requires travel within the city of Calgary including caring for clients in their homes or in the community. You will be responsible to operate a laptop computer and mobile phone, and for manual handling (lifting, lowering, carrying, pushing and pulling) as a regular part of the job. For example: lifting approximately 30 pounds in and out of a vehicle on a regular basis and carrying this weight up and downstairs throughout the day is common within this job. Learning resources and training are provided to safely perform work. Must have 1-2 years recent Home Care or Community experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Experience working with acute clients and/or long-term clients with a focus on chronic disease management, Recent experience in a community setting, Home Care experience preferred, Experience in providing case management services, Canadian Nurses Association (CNA) certification in Gerontology, Experience in Home Parenteral Therapy (HPT), wound, skin and ostomy care, palliative support and client teaching.

Requirements
Applicants must complete an accredited undergraduate nursing program, have at least two years of nursing experience including one to two years of recent Home Care or community experience, and hold or be eligible for a CRNA practice permit. Current BCLS-HCP certification from the Heart and Stroke Foundation, a driver's license and vehicle, and the ability to travel and perform regular manual handling are required.
