Your Opportunity:
If you are committed to helping Calgarians with their health care needs, read on. This position is not based in one facility but provides support where it is needed at Richmond Road Diagnostic and Treatment Centre, Sheldon M. Chumir, South Calgary Health Centre, or any of the Carewest facilities in Calgary. If this sounds big, it is. We are looking for a reliable person that can work at any of these facilities. Ideally, you will have some basic knowledge of inventory controls, maybe even some medical supplies knowledge. The position involves hard work, but together we can help Albertans with what they need when they are unable to help themselves.
Description:
As a Stores I, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks associated with the picking, packaging, shipping and receiving of orders for hospital supplies, equipment and/or food in accordance with established guidelines and standards. You will process incoming requisitions and distribute supplies, complete cart audits for quality assurance and communicate frequently with stakeholders to ensure appropriate and correct quantities of supplies are available. In addition, you will track and report on inventory to ensure over stocking does not occur.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Must be capable of pushing and pulling heavy wheeled carts up to and occasionally exceeding 275 Kgs. Must be capable of walking and or standing for long periods of time. Must regularly use hand and arms to reach, lift, and carry heavy items up to 25 kg.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Able to read, write and speak English fluently. Able to effectively communicate with all levels of staff, vendors and the public. Experience using a computer with the Windows operating system and Microsoft applications. Able to report to work with varying notice to fill planned/unplanned absences for day, evening and night shifts. Attention to detail and ability to work with limited supervision.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in WHMIS and TDG. Experience in shipping and receiving, warehousing and material handling. Able to occasionally move pallets with a manual pallet jack, exceeding 1200kg requiring a pushing force of 20kg.
