Do you enjoy leading, developing, and inspiring teams while maintaining the attention to detail required for successful food service operations? Join our Patient and Retail Food Services leadership team at Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge! Alberta Health Services is seeking an enthusiastic, client-focused leader with a passion for customer service and delivering safe, high-quality food services. Reporting to the Manager, FLES & Portering Services, the Food Services Supervisor shares responsibility for maintaining site operations and aligning AHS, NFLES, and site priorities with the delivery of Patient and Retail Food Services. This position provides direction and supervision to frontline employees and helps ensure patients and customers receive safe, nutritious, and high-quality meals and services. Responsibilities include staffing and scheduling, recruitment, employee development, performance management, food safety, quality standards, retail operations, patient meal services, and the management of food, supply, and labour expenses.As part of a collaborative team that includes other supervisors, managers, dietitians, and healthcare professionals, you will help develop and implement menus, promote continuous quality improvement, engage employees in operational problem-solving, and ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will be a visible, approachable, and organized leader who can manage competing priorities, support employees, lead change, and maintain strong relationships with patients, customers, site administration, and clinical teams.

Description:

Food Services Supervisors provide direction to front line workers (Administrative Supports, Food Service Workers and Stores Attendants) and ensure customers and patients receive the meals required to promote good health. You will be integrated as part of a dynamic team that includes other PFS & RFS Supervisors, Managers and Dietitians, and other health care professionals. Key competencies required for this role include: Ability to foster, build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve organizational goals. Effective communicator with strong organizational skills, customer focused orientation and commitment to providing quality service. Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making, coaching and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in staff. Demonstrated ability to implement change and handle competing priorities with minimal supervision. Strong interpersonal skills and exceptional verbal and written communications skills. The Supervisor position is an introduction to the operations management stream and could lead to other opportunities within Food Services Management.

Required Qualifications:

Post-secondary degree, diploma or certificate in Nutrition and/or Food Service Management. Minimum of 3 years' experience in a Food Services management role. Preferred Qualifications:

Experience leading projects and organizational initiatives. Experience with process improvement and change management methodologies (ie. Prosci, lean six sigma). Experience with Connect Care, CBORD, Microsoft Teams.
