Your Opportunity:
The Unit Clerk is responsible for providing clerical and administrative support to the Outpatient Department. This role serves as the first point of contact for patients, physicians, and healthcare team members, ensuring efficient coordination of patient flow, appointments, and departmental communications. The Unit Clerk contributes to a positive patient experience through professional, courteous, and accurate administrative support.
Description:
As a Unit Clerk, you will be responsible for the efficient flow of communication between health professionals, departments, patients and families while maintaining confidentiality of patient information. You will also be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks which may include reception, greeting and directing visitors, patients and health professionals, maintaining patient records and charts, transcribing and processing physician orders as well as scheduling patient tests and/or treatments. You will also be responsible for performing a range of administrative activities in support of the unit.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Completion of an accredited Unit Clerk Course or equivalent training program.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Knowledge of medical terminology. Experience in an ambulatory care or outpatient setting. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary healthcare team. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Able to withstand the physical demands of the job.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ambulatory Connect Care training. Experience in a busy outpatient setting.
