Role Description The Account Executive is a full-time, on-site role based in Mississauga, ON, responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of personal and/or commercial insurance clients. On a day-to-day basis, the role includes assessing client needs, preparing insurance quotes, presenting coverage options, and processing new policies, renewals, and endorsements. The Account Executive will handle client inquiries, provide guidance on coverage, assist with claims-related questions, and ensure timely follow-up on all client communications. The role also involves building relationships with insurer partners, negotiating terms when appropriate, and maintaining accurate documentation within brokerage systems. Collaboration with colleagues to support team goals, uphold compliance standards, and contribute to a positive client-centered environment is an essential part of this position.
Qualifications
- Strong client service and relationship management skills, with the ability to provide clear, professional guidance to a diverse client base.
- Solid sales, negotiation, and business development abilities to retain existing clients and identify opportunities for growth.
- Organizational and time management skills, including attention to detail and the capacity to manage multiple accounts and deadlines.
- Comfort with insurance brokerage systems, general computer proficiency (e.g., MS Office), and aptitude for learning new digital tools.
- Knowledge of personal and/or commercial insurance products, underwriting basics, and regulatory and compliance requirements in Ontario.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including professional telephone etiquette and the ability to explain complex information clearly.
- Valid RIBO license or eligibility to obtain one within a defined timeframe; additional insurance designations (e.g., CIP, CAIB) are an asset.
- Previous experience in an insurance brokerage or related financial services environment is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in an office setting, with a commitment to ethical, client-first practices.
