Alliance Française Canada Pacific (AFCPS) is a nonprofit cultural and educational organization dedicated to promoting French language, Francophone cultures, and intercultural dialogue across Western Canada.

Created through the evolution of Alliance Française de Vancouver (founded in 1904) and Alliance Française de Victoria (founded in 1910), AFCPS brings together more than 120 years of history and a strong commitment to French-language education, cultural programming, and community engagement.

With nearly 80 employees, a $6.5M+ annual budget, and operations in Vancouver, Victoria, and New Westminster, AFCPS is entering an exciting period of growth and development.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director / CEO provides strategic, financial, operational, and organizational leadership to advance AFCPS’s mission and long-term sustainability.

The successful candidate will lead a multidisciplinary team, strengthen organizational capacity, build strategic partnerships, support revenue development, and ensure operational excellence across multiple locations.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a bilingual senior leader with:

10+ years of executive leadership experience.
Experience leading nonprofit, cultural, educational, or public sector organizations.
Strong expertise in strategic planning, financial management, and organizational development.
Experience managing teams, partnerships, and complex operations.
Professional fluency in French and English.
Knowledge of the Alliance Française network, French as a Foreign Language (FLE), or the Francophone cultural sector is considered an asset.

Compensation

Salary range: $130,000–$150,000, based on experience and qualifications.
Four weeks paid vacation.
Extended health and dental benefits.
Defined contribution pension plan.
Flexible work arrangements where appropriate.
Professional development opportunities.

Profil recherché

La personne idéale est une leader bilingue possédant :

Plus de 10 ans d’expérience en direction supérieure.
Une expérience dans un organisme à but non lucratif, culturel, éducatif ou public.
Une solide expérience en planification stratégique, gestion financière et développement organisationnel.
Une expérience en gestion d’équipes, de partenariats et d’opérations complexes.
Une maîtrise professionnelle du français et de l’anglais.
La connaissance du réseau des Alliances Françaises, du français langue étrangère (FLE) ou du secteur culturel francophone constitue un atout.

Rémunération et avantages

Salaire de 130 000 $ à 150 000 $, selon l’expérience et les qualifications.
