Job Description

Monday to Saturday 8am to 12pm/1pm + Monday 12pm-7pm

Allied Universal is seeking Security Guard – Store in Downtown Vancouver, BC

Location: Vancouver, BC

Pay Rate: $19 per hour

Schedule: Monday 8am-7pm + Tuesday to Saturday 8am to 12pm/1pm

Employment Type: Full-Time

Overview:

We are seeking a professional, customer-focused Security Professional to join the security team at downtown Vancouver Luxury Retail store. This position combines traditional security duties and communication responsibilities.

The successful candidate will serve as a central point of communication for the security team while actively participating in daily security operations throughout the shopping center. This role requires strong communication skills, excellent situational awareness, and the ability to respond effectively to emergencies and customer service situations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Welcoming Customers and maitaining safety in the store.
• Being able to stand and walk during long hours.
• De-escalate conflicts and manage challenging situations using effective communication techniques.
• Provide exceptional customer service to shoppers, tenants, retailers, and visitors.
• Assist with emergency response procedures, evacuations, and incident management.
• Complete detailed incident reports, occurrence reports, and daily activity logs.
• Liaise with emergency services, mall management, and external stakeholders when necessary.
• Enforce property rules, policies, and procedures while maintaining a professional presence.
• Support the overall safety and security of the shopping center environment.
  
  

Qualifications:

• Valid BC Security Guard License.
• Previous security experience in a retail, commercial, or customer service environment is considered an asset.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions during emergency situations.
• Excellent conflict resolution and de-escalation skills..
• Ability to work independently.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in a high-end retail, luxury shopping centre, or commercial property environment.
• Experience coordinating emergency response and shift operations.
