Job Description

Retail Security Guard – Full-Time, & Part-Time Opportunities !

Join Allied Universal®

Allied Universal® is seeking a reliable and professional Retail Security Guard to join our team in Surrey, BC.

In this role, you will help maintain a safe and secure retail environment by conducting patrols, monitoring activities, preventing theft, responding to incidents, and providing excellent customer service to employees, customers, and visitors.

Location: Surrey, BC

Pay Rate: $20.00–$21.00 per hour

Schedule: Various : Need to be available every day & weekends !

Shift Time: 0800h - 1600h & 1600h - 0000h

Key Responsibilities

• Patrol the retail property to deter theft, suspicious activity, and security incidents.
• Monitor customer and employee activity to help maintain a safe environment.
• Respond promptly and professionally to incidents, emergencies, and security concerns.
• Identify, document, and report suspicious behaviour, policy violations, and other incidents.
• Assist with access control and enforce site-specific security procedures.
• Maintain accurate incident reports and daily activity logs.
• Communicate effectively with store management, customers, visitors, and emergency responders.
• Provide professional customer service while maintaining a visible security presence.
  
  

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of security experience, preferably in a retail or commercial environment.
• Valid BC Security Worker Licence.
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
• Excellent observation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to remain calm, professional, and make sound decisions under pressure.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong customer service skills and attention to detail.
• Availability to work the required schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed.
  
  

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to climb stairs and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to remain alert and attentive throughout the shift.
