Security Professional – College Campus
Position Details
- Hourly Rate: $ 21.50 / hour
- Schedule: Various shifts
- Employment Type: Full-Time / Part-Time
- Location: Ottawa, Ontario
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular foot patrols throughout the campus, including classrooms, hallways, common areas, and exterior premises.
- Monitor access points and ensure that only authorized individuals enter restricted areas.
- Provide assistance and directions to students, staff, and visitors.
- Respond promptly to security incidents, emergencies, and disturbances.
- Monitor CCTV systems and report any suspicious activity.
- Enforce campus policies and procedures in a professional and respectful manner.
- Prepare detailed incident reports and maintain accurate daily activity logs.
- Assist with emergency procedures, evacuations, and other safety-related situations.
- Maintain a visible security presence to help prevent incidents and promote a safe learning environment.
- Valid Quebec BSP Security Guard Licence (mandatory).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Professional appearance and positive attitude.
- Ability to remain calm and exercise good judgment in challenging situations.
- Strong observation and report-writing skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Previous security experience in an educational or institutional environment is considered an asset.
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification is considered an asset.
- Approachable, respectful, and service-oriented.
- Comfortable interacting with students, faculty, and visitors.
- Proactive and attentive to their surroundings.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional.
