About Alphabyte

Alphabyte Solutions is a Toronto-area Data and AI consultancy. We help mid-market and enterprise organizations put AI to work: AI implementation, workflow automation, custom AI agents, enterprise data infrastructure and tech stack optimization.

Our clients are senior technical and operations leaders in construction, logistics, regulated industries and the public sector across Canada and the US. Our sales team is nimble, hands-on and growing fast. We are hiring a cohort of four full-time Business Development Representatives to start together in January, 2027.

The Role

As a BDR at Alphabyte, you open doors. Your job is to get senior decision-makers (CTOs, CIOs, VPs of Operations, Directors of Innovation, Chief Data Officers, enterprise IT leads) on the phone, earn 20 minutes of their time, and book a qualified discovery call for our closing team.

This is a cold-calling-first role. Email and LinkedIn support the phone; they do not replace it. You will work from pre-researched lead lists, follow a proven call script, and use AI tooling every day to prepare, log and follow up.

What You Will Do

  • Start each morning with a pre-researched call list and a 30-minute team standup
  • Make 60+ outbound cold calls a day
  • Book discovery calls for the Account Executive and hand each one over with a short written brief
  • Work your follow-up cadence: callbacks, second and third touches, and leads whose sequence is ending
  • Log a disposition on every call in HubSpot
  • Use Claude-based sales tooling for call prep, call write-ups, follow-up emails and one-pagers
  • Review your numbers weekly with your manager
  • Share what you hear on calls so scripts, objection handling and target lists keep improving

What Success Looks Like

You ramp in three weeks:

  • Week 1: Knowledge transfer (what we sell, who buys it, the tools, the script)
  • Week 2: Supervised practice on live calls
  • Week 3: Independent execution, followed by a graduation review

Once ramped, your targets are:

  • 60–80 outbound calls per day
  • 15% average connect rate
  • 5 qualified meetings booked per week
  • 100% of calls logged in HubSpot

The number that matters most: deals reaching the Discovery Call.

Must-Haves

  • Comfortable on the phone: you can call a stranger 60 times a day, take a no, and dial again
  • Clear, confident spoken and written English; you can explain what a Data & AI consultancy does in two sentences
  • Curious about how businesses run and able to hold a conversation with a VP of Operations or a CIO
  • Coachable: you take feedback on one call and change the next
  • Organized and disciplined with a CRM
  • Willing to use AI tools daily and learn them quickly
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada
  • Able to work in-office in Vaughan, Ontario (Pine Valley Business Park)

Nice-to-Haves

  • 6–24 months in outbound sales, inside sales, recruiting or another customer-facing role
  • Exposure to B2B technology, consulting, construction, logistics or public-sector buyers
  • Experience with HubSpot, Dialpad, Apollo or similar
  • A sport, competition or performance background: you like a scoreboard

No prior AI or technical background is required. We teach the product; we can't teach persistence.

What We Offer

  • Base salary plus commission on booked and qualified meetings
  • A modern stack from day one: HubSpot, Dialpad, Apollo, Microsoft 365 and Claude
  • Pre-researched call lists every morning, so you spend your time dialing, not Googling
  • Daily coaching, weekly one-on-ones and a clear scorecard
  • A real path to Account Executive: we are building our closing team in 2027 and promote from within
  • A small team where your feedback changes the script the same week
  • Front-row exposure to how AI is sold and deployed in mid-market companies
