We are seeking a Power Platform Consultant to design and implement a scalable Microsoft 365 collaboration, document management, and information management solution within a complex organizational environment.

The consultant will focus initially on developing a centralized Committee Document Repository and Staff Directory / Lookup solution, while establishing the information architecture and governance framework needed to support future expansion into broader knowledge management and departmental business functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Validate business requirements and translate them into practical, sustainable Microsoft 365 solutions.
  • Facilitate stakeholder workshops and requirements sessions with diverse user groups.
  • Design and implement SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint Hub Sites solutions.
  • Develop a centralized, permission-controlled document repository with standardized structures, naming conventions, version control, retention, and lifecycle management.
  • Establish committee-level access controls and role-based permissions.
  • Develop a scalable information architecture and governance framework to support future departmental repositories and knowledge-management initiatives.
  • Design and implement a publicly accessible Drupal-based staff directory.
  • Develop operating procedures, governance documentation, and standards for ongoing platform management.
  • Create training materials and conduct knowledge-transfer sessions for administrators and end users.
  • Support change management and user adoption initiatives.
  • Provide implementation recommendations, project updates, issue management, and ongoing guidance.
  • Develop a roadmap for expanding the solution to additional business functions, including policies and procedures, financial information, KPI reporting, awards and recognition, and onboarding/offboarding resources.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing Microsoft 365 collaboration and document management solutions, particularly SharePoint Online and Microsoft Teams.
  • Strong experience with SharePoint Hub Sites, information architecture, document management, records management, and governance.
  • Experience establishing document classification, retention, access controls, naming conventions, permissions, and lifecycle management.
  • Proven ability to translate business requirements into sustainable solutions using existing enterprise platforms while minimizing custom development.
  • Experience facilitating workshops and working with diverse stakeholders, including administrative teams, committees, faculty, and external users.
  • Experience developing governance models, standard operating procedures, training materials, and change management plans.
  • Experience with Drupal CMS and public-facing directories or information management solutions.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Highly self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage competing priorities.

Education

  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline; or
  • College diploma with relevant professional experience.
  • Microsoft certifications related to Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Power Platform, or collaboration technologies are an asset.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working within a Canadian university or higher education environment.
  • Experience in healthcare or other complex, highly regulated organizations.
  • Experience with records management, accreditation requirements, and enterprise governance.
