Original job description

Req ID:500444

At Alstom, we understand transport networks and what moves people. From high-speed trains, metros, monorails, and trams, to turnkey systems, services, infrastructure, signalling and digital mobility, we offer our diverse customers the broadest portfolio in the industry. Every day, more than 80 000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon and replace cars.

More than a job: a mission

We're looking for a Mechanical Engineer/Designer passionate about designing the interiors that shape the future of sustainable rail travel. You'll join a multidisciplinary team dedicated to high-quality, efficient, and innovative train interiors that connect people and cities. You'll work alongside people who show up with ownership, passion, and dedication.

Your role, your impact

Design and develop interior components and sub-assemblies from concept to first installation.
Ensure compliance with quality, cost, and delivery (QCD) commitments for your engineering scope.
Utilize CATIA V5 and DMA for digital modelling while meeting performance criteria such as acoustics and weight.
Collaborate with suppliers, project teams, and external engineers to achieve project milestones.
Deliver precise engineering documentation and design reviews for internal validation.

You'll work with sharp, committed teams solving complex challenges that shape the future of mobility. As a Mechanical Engineer/Designer, you'll bring advanced technical solutions to life in every train interior we build.

What you bring

Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent College diploma.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in mechanical design, ideally in rail, automotive, or bus industries.
Strong proficiency in CATIA V5, Excel, and other MS Office tools.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple deadlines.
Fluent in English and French, with excellent communication and teamwork skills.

How success is measured

Meeting design quality and performance metrics aligned with customer and project standards.
Delivering engineering outputs on time and within assigned cost targets.
Collaborating effectively across disciplines to ensure seamless project integration.

Alstom, a great place to grow

Join an innovative Interiors Development Center that shapes mobility solutions across the Americas.
Collaborate in Saint Bruno with global experts building sustainable, cutting-edge interiors.
Grow your career through technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning in a forward-thinking environment.

Bilingualism

Proficiency in French and English is required. Knowledge of a third language is considered an asset when working with our international partners, suppliers, colleagues, and customers. In Quebec, French remains the primary working language of our company.

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!

Important to note

As a global business, we’re an equal-opportunity employer that celebrates diversity across the 63 countries we operate in. We’re committed to creating an inclusive workplace for everyone.
