Original job description

Req ID:531514

At Alstom, we understand transport networks and what moves people. From high-speed trains, metros, monorails, and trams, to turnkey systems, services, infrastructure, signalling and digital mobility, we offer our diverse customers the broadest portfolio in the industry. Every day, more than 80 000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon and replace cars.

More Than a Job: A Mission

We're looking for an experienced engineer to design and deliver cutting-edge power supply solutions for major rail electrification projects. You'll work alongside people who show up with ownership, passion, and dedication.

Your Role, Your Impact

Create and review basic and detailed design drawings for power supply systems.
Integrate technical interface requirements from multiple stakeholders to ensure system compatibility.
Prepare BIM-format deliverables to align with digital project standards.
Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure project milestones are met.
Support the POS Design Leader in technical decision-making and compliance validation.

You'll work with sharp, committed teams solving complex challenges that shape the future of mobility as a Power Supply (POS) Design Engineer.

What You Bring

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferred on railway.
Good knowledge and practice of CAD and BIM tools for design and modeling.
Good knowledge and understanding for the standards, norms and good practice in North America and Canada (CSA, AREMA, etc.).
Good knowledge and understanding for International Standards, norms and practice (IEC, EN, etc.).
Good knowledge and practice for electrical tools such as ETAP, CYME, etc. or equivalent tools.
Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

How Success Is Measured

Delivering design packages on time, with 100% compliance to requirements.
Ensuring full technical alignment and performance within project scope.
Maintaining high collaboration standards across multidisciplinary teams.

Alstom, A Great Place to Grow

Contribute to sustainable transport by supporting network electrification in Toronto.
Work on pioneering projects that redefine mobility across Canada.
Grow your expertise in an inclusive environment with global career pathways.
Perks and Benefits:
- benefits and eligibility for an annual performance bonus. Final compensation will be based on skills, experience, and internal equity.
- Use of Artificial Intelligence in Hiring
- Interview Process & Candidate Communication Candidates who participate in an interview for this role will be informed of the hiring decision within 45 days of their final interview date. This job posting represents an existing vacancy.
Salary Range: $80,000 to $105,000 CAD per year

Here, progress isn't always easy - the scale is massive, the tasks are complex - but the impact is real. Because when the system runs, the train moves, and the city connects - that feeling stays with you. And the legacy lasts.

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!
