Original job description

Req ID:528365

At Alstom, we understand transport networks and what moves people. From high-speed trains, metros, monorails, and trams, to turnkey systems, services, infrastructure, signalling and digital mobility, we offer our diverse customers the broadest portfolio in the industry. Every day, more than 80 000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon and replace cars.

Could you be the full-time Project Procurement Manager in Toronto we’re looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your procurement and project management expertise in a dynamic and cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative, driven, and innovative teammates.

You'll ensure the proper contribution of procurement to the project’s goals and objectives while supporting the Project Manager, Region, and Sub-System Managers (SSMs). Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (such as legal, engineering, and quality teams), define and implement procurement strategies, and much more.

You’ll specifically take care of coordinating, consolidating, and securing sourcing activities for the project, but also ensuring compliance with procurement strategies and quality, cost, and delivery (QCD) commitments.

We’ll look to you for:

Defining and implementing the Project Procurement Strategy in alignment with QCD commitments.
Collaborating with the Procurement Platform Director to establish and share the Project Procurement Management Plan.
Ensuring procurement strategies are understood and applied by all stakeholders.
Managing buyers and collaborating with other Project Procurement Managers (PPMs) to contribute to the project’s success.
Organizing procurement launch meetings with key stakeholders, including the Project Manager and Sub-System Managers.
Monitoring supplier progress and addressing challenges with corrective measures.
Ensuring compliance with project-specific conditions, such as localization rates and financial requirements.
Overseeing QCD performance reporting for procurement across subsystems and components.
Deploying and maintaining tools like the electronic Parts Maturity Follow-Up (ePMFU) system.

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

Master’s degree in purchasing, project management, engineering, or a related field.
10+ years of experience in project management, sourcing, engineering, or quality.
Strong knowledge of signalling activities and subcontracted works.
At least 5 years of experience in subcontracting.
Proficiency in contract management.
Ability to coordinate and manage sourcing activities effectively.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Things you’ll enjoy Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:

Enjoy stability, challenges, and a long-term career free from monotonous routines.
Work with innovative procurement strategies and tools.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and supportive colleagues.
Contribute to groundbreaking projects that make a difference in sustainable mobility.
Utilise our flexible and inclusive working environment.
Steer your career in whatever direction you choose across functions and countries.
Benefit from our investment in your development, through award-winning learning opportunities.
Progress toward leadership roles or other career growth opportunities.
Receive a fair and dynamic reward package that recognises your performance and potential, plus comprehensive and competitive social coverage (life, medical, pension).

Compensation

The expected compensation for this role is $100,000 – $135,000 CAD per year, plus benefits and eligibility for an annual performance bonus. Final compensation will be based on skills, experience, and internal equity.

Use of Artificial Intelligence in Hiring

We do not use artificial intelligence in the recruiting process for this role.

Interview Process & Candidate Communication

Candidates who participate in an interview for this role will be informed of the hiring decision within 45 days of their final interview date.

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!

Important to note

As a global business, we’re an equal-opportunity employer that celebrates diversity across the 63 countries we operate in. We’re committed to creating an inclusive workplace for everyone.
