Original job description

Req ID:531812

Leading societies to a low carbon future, Alstom develops and markets mobility solutions that provide the sustainable foundations for the future of transportation. Our product portfolio ranges from high-speed trains, metros, monorail, and trams to integrated systems, customised services, infrastructure, signalling and digital mobility solutions. Joining us means joining a caring, responsible, and innovative company where more than 70,000 people lead the way to greener and smarter mobility, worldwide

Could you be the full-time Project Procurement Manager in Toronto, Canada, we’re looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your procurement expertise in a transformative infrastructure project. You’ll work alongside innovative, collaborative, and forward-thinking teammates.

You'll play a pivotal role in reducing the carbon footprint of Canada's busiest public transit system and contribute to the On-Corridor Works project, which is transforming collective mobility in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton areas (GTHA). Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business, including Legal, Sub-System Managers (SSMs), and Procurement Platform Directors, to define strategies, ensure quality, and manage sourcing activities, and much more.

You’ll specifically take care of defining and implementing the Project Procurement Strategy and ensuring QCD (Quality, Cost, Delivery) commitments are met, but also coordinate sourcing activities and manage risks and cost performance.

We’ll look to you for:

Defining and implementing the Project Procurement Strategy in alignment with QCD commitments.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure procurement strategies are shared, understood, and applied.
Managing buyers and procurement teams to ensure their contributions align with project goals.
Coordinating procurement launch meetings and monitoring supplier progress and challenges.
Ensuring project-specific legal requirements are applied and adhered to.
Building and consolidating Material Work Packages, including cost, risk, and improvement plans.

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

Master’s degree in purchasing, engineering, project management, or equivalent.
10+ years of experience in project, sourcing, engineering, or quality roles.
Strong knowledge of electrification or infrastructure procurement activities, including power supply, overhead catenary systems, and subcontracted procurement packages.
Ability to work effectively in a matrix environment.
Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
Ability to challenge the status quo and drive results.
Rigorous, structured, and detail-oriented approach to work.
An international mindset and fluency in English.

Things you’ll enjoy Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:

Enjoy stability, challenges, and a long-term career free from boring daily routines.
Work with new security standards for rail signalling.
Collaborate with transverse teams and helpful colleagues.
Contribute to innovative projects that impact communities positively.
Utilise our inclusive and dynamic working environment.
Steer your career in whatever direction you choose across functions and countries.
Benefit from our investment in your development, through award-winning learning programs.
Progress towards senior leadership roles or technical expertise pathways.
Benefit from a fair and dynamic reward package that recognises your performance and potential, plus comprehensive and competitive social coverage (life, medical, pension).

Compensation

The expected compensation for this role is $110,000 – $145,000 CAD per year, plus benefits and eligibility for an annual performance bonus. Final compensation will be based on skills, experience, and internal equity.

Use of Artificial Intelligence in Hiring

We do not use artificial intelligence in the recruiting process for this role.

Interview Process & Candidate Communication

Candidates who participate in an interview for this role will be informed of the hiring decision within 45 days of their final interview date.
