Original job description

Req ID:531208

At Alstom, we understand transport networks and what moves people. From high-speed trains, metros, monorails, and trams, to turnkey systems, services, infrastructure, signalling and digital mobility, we offer our diverse customers the broadest portfolio in the industry. Every day, more than 80 000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon and replace cars.

Could you be the full-time Senior Risk Coordinator in Toronto we’re looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your risk management expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative, forward-thinking, and results-driven teammates.

You'll play a critical role in ensuring the effective identification, assessment, and mitigation of risks, savings, and opportunities within our projects. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (Project Managers, Core Teams, Scheduling, and Cost Control), facilitate workshops to gather inputs for risk analysis, and provide actionable insights through robust risk reporting and dashboards.

You’ll specifically take care of creating and maintaining the consolidated Risk and Opportunity Register, but also leading quantitative risk analyses to inform target pricing and schedule planning.

We’ll look to you for:

Ensuring project members are trained in Risk Management through seminars and training courses
Supporting project teams in identifying and assessing risks, opportunities, and mitigation actions
Leading brainstorming sessions for risk, saving, and opportunity identification
Collaborating with risk owners to define, implement, and monitor mitigation actions
Developing scoring rationales for risks and opportunities, and integrating them into project schedules and budgets
Performing integrated quantitative cost and schedule risk analyses using Risk Management software
Delivering clear, actionable risk reporting and dashboards to senior leadership and stakeholders
Monitoring and reporting risk KPIs and ensuring quality standards are met

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
5-7 years of experience in risk management
Experience with Monte Carlo Risk Assessment tools
Proficiency in QCRA and QSRA for multi-million-dollar railway or infrastructure projects
Comprehensive understanding of risk management principles, methodologies, and tools
Strong analytical skills for risk and opportunity assessments
Project management experience
Good knowledge of railway products and systems
Experience working with internal processes (Tenders, Projects, Engineering, Industrial, Sourcing, Supply Chain, Quality, and their interfaces)
Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration skills
AACE Certified (DRMP)/PMI-RMP or IPMA-D, PMP certification is an asset

Things you’ll enjoy Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:

Enjoy stability, challenges, and a long-term career free from boring daily routines
Work with new security standards for rail signalling
Collaborate with transverse teams and helpful colleagues
Contribute to innovative projects
Utilise our agile and collaborative working environment
Steer your career in whatever direction you choose across functions and countries
Benefit from our investment in your development, through award-winning learning
Progress towards leadership roles in risk management or project management
Benefit from a fair and dynamic reward package that recognises your performance and potential, plus comprehensive and competitive social coverage (life, medical, pension)

Compensation

The expected compensation for this role is $90,000 – $118,000 CAD per year, plus benefits and eligibility for an annual performance bonus. Final compensation will be based on skills, experience, and internal equity.

Use of Artificial Intelligence in Hiring

We do not use artificial intelligence in the recruiting process for this role.

Interview Process & Candidate Communication

Candidates who participate in an interview for this role will be informed of the hiring decision within 45 days of their final interview date.

This job posting represents an existing vacancy.

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!

Important to note

As a global business, we’re an equal-opportunity employer that celebrates diversity across the 63 countries we operate in. We’re committed to creating an inclusive workplace for everyone.
